They think he is the anti-Christ and will bring on the second coming of Jesus.

(8,968 posts)They're going to a lot of trouble for nothing, since their is no such animal as the anti-Christ. But then again, they are still distraught that we're not nuking it out with Iran any time soon, so perhaps they see a glimmer of "hope" with Trump.

(15,391 posts)I mean for years they've pointed to different people as the anti-Christ, Obama being the current favorite. I always asked them why they're fighting so hard against him since their theology says that with the anti-Christ around, the End Times that they've had a collective boner about for so long are finally upon us.
Never get a good answer.

(58,785 posts)Many now believe he will be the end-times president. They're growing old grabbing at these things, but always believe. Presumably these true believers will vote for end times for America. Sigh.
More humorously, he's also seen by some as sort of a second Ronald Reagan, different style, but filling the same authoritarian fatherly leadership role. Yes, I know (!), but this is actually from a report of how some social and/or religious conservative (great overlap) women describe what they like about him. They edit out any messages of incompetence and come up with reassuring. He'll keep America safe. (Of course only until it is no more, for some of them.)

The polling showed that practicing evangelicals supported him at a lower rate than those who pretty much just call themselves evangelicals.
For what it is worth.
