Mike Pence for VP may mean President Pence for the GOP.

I cry for the world over the thoughts of such a tragedy... yet, one needs to look at GOP chess moves...

A Trump Presidency would not last 1 year.. Maybe the GOP is thinking along lines of just using Trump for the vote and really angle for the VP to become President soon afterwards. Trump is pure chaos, an early resignation is predicted. Ultimately, GOP gets their backdoor win....

Just thinking.....and sharing my guess

The VP pick that loses in November is usually the automatic early front runner four years later. I think that's why Gingrich and Christie want it so bad.

The GOP knows they have no chance of getting an establishment candidate to win the presidency if they usurp Trump since he is their only chance (be it a small chance) to beat Hillary.

God help us if this actually happens, all the progress we made over the last 50 years would be undone within the first 100 days of Pence taking office.

I don't condone such violence nor do I give a subtle wink and nod. I don't marvel in the possibility.

Trump is the political enemy but he is a father, grandfather and a husband. I wouldn't want any bodily harm to come to him -- just an election loss in a landslide.

Besides, being assassinated would move Trump into the ranks of Lincoln, JF Kennedy, McKinley etc. which he doesn't deserve one iota.

However, I do not see The tRump completing a full, four-year term. He just doesn't have the stones for it. If, God forbid, there is a GOP win, I think we are looking at some type of bait-and-switch.

Other posters in the thread were tip-toeing around it, so I just wanted ti spell out (I insinuated nothing!) the ugliness that has taken four of our Presidents. And no, for the record, I do not support the killing of Mr Trump.

However, I think if most Republicans see the possibility of Trump resigning. The VP race would have included Rubio and Cruz and Kasich.

Of course the biggest possibility is that the Republicans know Trump will lose.

So I think you are right. Christie and him really have no where else to go. Gingrich is in the wilderness and the VP was his only chance out.

Only the desperate have considered joining Trump on the ticket.

So what happens to the GOP nomination for Governor of Indiana? Didn't Pence win the primary?

Furious Cheeto hinted that he might not even want to be President. If he wins, I can fully expect him to pretty much resign before he gets sworn in.

This choice is intentional by him and by the GOP to try and do an end run-around on the country.
