"The delegates must unite and must reject any requirements to vote for Trump. To stop Hillary Clinton, they must stop Donald Trump. To stop Donald Trump, the delegates must free themselves for the good of the party, the country, and our shared future."

That's from July 1.

I really can't believe the level of pain and bitterness that I see and hear these days. Some of the very same people who always told others to be self-reliant and free of dependence on government are now claiming that their happiness, their well-being and their futures are now entirely dependent upon the outcome of a political election. It's amazing. I try to remind them that they should not depend upon the government for their happiness, but that doesn't seem to help.

At the same time, I am convinced that this world will be better with a President Clinton than with a President Trump. I recognize that I could be wrong, but that is my judgement.

When GHW Bush-appointed Sc justice David Souter retired, Erickson wasn't particularly retrained. After all, Souter had committed the greatest crime in Erickson's eyes, being insufficiently Conservatively Correct:

And that realization can and did change the game plan for wining the next election.
