Related: About this forumSanders to endorse Clinton Tuesday in New Hampshire.
Huffington Post:
The endorsement is expected to occur next Tuesday, when Sanders and Clinton will appear together at a rally in New Hampshire, Democratic sources first told NBC News on Wednesday.
Sanders all but confirmed that he would endorse Clinton in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday.
We have got to do everything that we can to defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton, he said, adding that I dont honestly know how we would survive four years of a Donald Trump [as president].

(42,862 posts)Is the fact that someone doubts Sanders' sincerity a valid reason to "go-off" on them? Is the mere expression of uncertainty about what will actually happen a justifiable reason to "let-'em-have-it" with both barrels?
I was polite and factual, and I expressed my opinion. KPN had a different opinion and was polite as well. Why should KPN's response be considered to be a "restrained" one?

(42,862 posts)... we'll see how sincere and enthusiastic and believable he is. Personally, I have my doubts.
My lack of confidence in Bernie and my suspicions of his motives are not "bashing". It's really pretty silly for anyone to attempt to characterize my personal doubts about him as "bashing" or as "continuing the primary" in an (apparent) effort to shut-down any criticism of him at all.
He'll have to EARN my confidence and trust. So far, he hasn't. Will he ever? Who knows what the future holds? You're confident about what may yet happen, I remain skeptical ... so, ultimately, "we'll see" what the future holds when it arrives.
Enough of this hypersensitivity and hyper-defensiveness, Ken.

(45,251 posts)are a little one-sided, no? And, since Hillary won the the primary, bashing Sanders is as pointless as it is one-sided. So, aside from goading the few priimary supporters of his who stil post here, why even engage in it, if you aren't still fighting the primary? Especially when what you are criticizing him for--breaking an alleged promise to formally endorse Hillary this coming Tuesday hasn't even happened yet.
BTW, I am really fine with the positive changes to the party platform he's fought for and won.

... whether Sanders' "endorsement" and "concession" is just lip-service, unrehearsed and a bland cold-read off the teleprompter, or whether it's sincere and enthusiastic. I have my doubts. Clearly you dislike the fact that I'm doubtful and that I won't be convinced until I actually see and hear what he has to say ... but you'll just have to deal with it. It's a little silly to characterize my personal doubts as "bashing" Sanders or "fighting the primary". GMAFB!

Yes, we have decided at JPR that we will not police language here. Swear words and well pretty much any word is acceptable depending upon context and use.
The one exception to this is if a poster calls someone else such a name. No one is allowed to call someone a 'cunt' or a 'nigger' or anything like that here.
Otherwise, we are not going to censor what people wish to communicate even if that communication, like this thread obviously letting off some steam, involves words that some might not like or would choose to never use themselves.
Thank you.

The daylight between them is not as broad as you think. They agree on more than they disagree. And even there it was disagreement on strategy.
At any rate, will be interesting to see this rally and how it plays out.

KPN
(15,646 posts)Bernie has a lot of credibility with almost all of his supporters. I'm sure he has thought this out and believes he can endorse and be true to his supporters at the same time. We (Bernie supporters) are all frustrated with the establishment, but regardless of how demoralizing it may seem, it's also pretty hard to go against the guy who courageously shined a national spotlight on the fundamental wrongness of our current electoral and governance systems.
Bernie may back whoever he wishes. This country still has some of the characteristics of a democracy. And as I have said more than once, the moment the words "I endorse Hillery Clinton" pass his lips, all the foaming at the mouth will cease and the sugar will fall. Bernie will become "an honored elder statesman" instead "an old communist gun-lover leading a pack of out-of-control misogynists" and the so-called progressive platform will be rushed to the nearest paper shredder.
I, on the other hand, still need to be convinced.
Todays_Illusion

I am not convinced and won't be rushed or bullied into a decision until after the convention.
