Trump apparently called out a few senators by name at the meeting. He went after Jeff Flake (R-AZ), saying he hasn't attacked Flake yet, but intends to do so if Flake doesn't endorse him. Flake is mad about the anti-Mexican and anti-Muslim stands Trump is taking. Trump said Flake was going to lose his reelection bid.

Trump is apparently unaware of the fact that senators don't run every two years and that Flake isn't up for reelection this time.

Trump also criticized Mark Kirk of Illinois, who took back his endorsement of Trump after The Donald attacked the ethnicity of a federal judge. There were fewer sparks there, however, cause Kirk skipped the meeting. Trump insisted at the meeting he was going to win Illinois in November in a landslide. Uh-huh.

Finally Trump criticized Ben Sasse of Kansas or one of those other square states. Sasse's spokesman later said their exchange was "gracious" but then also described the election overall as a "dumpster fire".

It's time to start hanging the citrus neanderthal around all the Republicans' necks. This is the perfect year for a 50 state strategy

he is so delusional if he thinks he can threaten and bully united state senators. That might have worked with the poor people he shortchanged over the years ( small business owners to whom he would not pay them what they were due ) but I doubt this is going to fly with that crowd..

that meeting sure went well did it not. The Guy is so into himself that does not even see what is coming at him. The Duffus just pissed off a certain segment of his so called own Party. Flake and Romney buddies,watch for some behind scenes actions by Hatch,Lee,Brasso and others in their little scripture reading group.

Said before yesterday's debacle of a speech. The fact that he didn't know the difference between the Articles of the Constitution and The Bill of Rights should give them nightmares.

11. S.C. R rep Sanford: "There is no Article XII."

Rep. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) left the meeting worried about Trump’s grasp on the basics of the Constitution. At a lunch with reporters afterward, he recalled that the candidate did not seem to know what he was promising to defend.

“I wasn’t particularly impressed,” Sanford said. “It was the normal stream of consciousness that’s long on hyperbole and short on facts. At one point, somebody asked about Article I powers: What will you do to protect them? I think his response was, ‘I want to protect Article I, Article II, Article XII,’ going down the list. There is no Article XII.”

Rep. H. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.), who said he was “uncomfortable” with Trump’s language, gave him a pass on the Constitution flub.

“When he made the comment about the Constitution, I love this article and that article, I assumed he was talking about the amendments, because he was off on the numbers,” he said.

First, if Trump doesn't know that there aren't 12 Articles in the Constitution, there's no reason to believe he knows what the 12th Amendment is.

Second, I like how newspapers are now quoting Mark "Appalachian Trail" Sanford about Trump's presentation like suddenly he's an authority on getting one's story right.

“He may be loose on some facts, reckless on some, but there’s not malicious intent there,” Sanford said.

In other words, he may be a big fat liar who shoots his mouth off without thinking, but that's okay! He's probably not the Prince of Darkness.
