(6,716 posts)I mean in a bad way that he is burning bridges left and right. I laughed my ass off when he went after CNN and then went after Chuck Todd, ROFL!!!!
nolabear
(41,991 posts)I mean, he sounds utterly unhinged. He rambles, he insults, he pushes the limits (man, CNN and Chuck Todd are taking a BEATING) of what he can get away with, and he says absolutely NOTHING that a presidential candidate should be saying.
If this was a movie (and I'm not sure it's not) there would be a plot turn where everyone overcomes their differences to utterly destroy the monster who's been abusing them.

(38 posts)I say that not to make light, or as hyperbole, I truly believe he is mentally ill.
That is not uncommon. We have a lot of mentally ill people in our country. What we don't typically have are mentally ill people winning the chance to compete for the world's most complex and difficult job.
Until now.
nolabear
(41,991 posts)The whole "mentally ill" trope is a bad one because it's used to refer to many illnesses that have no relationship with one another. And I am very, very carful not to diagnose en absentia. But I've seen too much evidence and too much of a long term pattern. I have another thought about him but I'll keep it to myself.
I sincerely believe that people are objects to him, to be used to achieve goals. ALL people.

Why do people watch, cheer and support this, do you think?

(41,991 posts)There are lots of fine people who are narcissistic to one degree or another. But malignant narcissists have a different agenda than those whose narcissism has some love for humanity involved can use it to do real good. I don't think Trump falls into that category.
mcar
(42,372 posts)One would guess that many politicians fall into the general category. Trump is a category unto himself!
Thanks!

(41,991 posts)There have been articles. But even as I think it's important I wouldn't say a lot if the board wasn't anonymous, more or less. Not that I don't think it could be backed up but it takes a LOT to get most of us to throw terms out outside of practice.

(19,114 posts)He usually does sound like a lunatic, but this speech is a totally different level. He has lost it, he has has some type of breakdown. This guy is losing his mind on TV. This is way beyond him just acting crazy, I honestly think he's suffered some type of break from reality. Looks like he is ready to keel over. Someone should have went out and gotten him a long time ago, he needs some quiet time in a cool padded room.
Whoa.

(7,637 posts)so i turn on msnbc and he is on. I switch to cnn, same thing. they are covering his rally in full. i listen for a few minutes and he was totally unhinged. he could not keep one train of thought. He would start talking about one thing then mid sentence , turn to another topic. This went on for the whole time. I do not understand how he can have anybody supporting him.
