The Left Doesn't 'Believe the Wright Brothers Invented Flying'

What a delusional lying fuck.

"The Left has believed for at least forty years now in a concept called Peak Oil that says 'gee, we're about to run out." Well, it turns out that our reserves in the US, because of new technology, which is something that the Left rejects - they don't believe the Wright Brothers invented flying, they don't believe Edison invented electric light, and they don't believe we're about to invent the next generation of interesting things."

And they weren't even the first to do that. They just improved the ability to control, and hence fly, the aircraft safely.

Edison didn't invent the first light-bulb. In 1806 Humphrey Davy, an Englishman, demonstrated his electric lamp to the Royal Society. It worked by creating an electric spark between two charcoal rods. It was known as an "arc lamp".

Edison had a team of scientist and technicians who collectively developed the light bulb.

So, no, knowledgeable, educated people don't believe these things. Because these things are wrong.

What's so massively embarrassing about the position they're espousing is that it prefers children's stories and the ideology of the individual "genius" over historical accuracy - while chiding other people for historical inaccuracy! Projection at its finest: it accuses the Left of preferring ideology to facts while at the same time preferring ideology to facts.

John Joseph Montgomery (February 15, 1858 – October 31, 1911) was an American aviation pioneer, inventor, and professor at Santa Clara College in Santa Clara, California.

In 1884 he made the first manned, controlled, heavier-than-air flights in the United States, in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego, California

Orville was born in Dayton, Ohio. Wilbur was born in Indiana.

They developed the Flyer in Dayton and continued to fly and perfect their machine in Dayton. North Carolina was just the location for their first recorded successful flight. Saying they are from Carolina is like saying Eli Manning plays for the Colts because he won a super bowl in Indy.

I know that has nothing to do with the OP, but Ohio people will use any chance they can get to rectify the fallacy that the WB were from North Carolina.

I wonder if they consider levitation as flying or if they don't believe that god, Jesus, or his angels can levitate or fly?

Incandescent light bulbs had been around since the 1840's. The Englishman Joseph Swan developed the first commercially useful bulb, patented 1880. Edison came up with the most efficient bulb. Like the Wrights he refined and built upon processes and materials that were already in place.

Psst Newt, if one of your history students had said anything that ignorant, you would have given them a F, right?

I listened (on C-Span) to his speech in Florida where he talked about building a moonport. He went off on this tangent about the Wright brothers. His main point was that the gummint had backed Langley, who, of course failed, since he was backed by the gummint. The brave entrepreneurial capitalists the Wright brothers, succeeded, of course, because they were brave entrepreneurial capitalists.

Expect more of this.

The Wright brothers stole all the credit, the birds are the ones who really invented flying. The birds should have gotten rich from selling airplanes, not those evil Wright Brothers who just copied off the birds.

The concept of Peak Oil is in regards to production. This "new technology" that he refers to are only feaseable when the price of crude oil and/or refined products reaches very high levels. So the very fact that this "new technology" (which really isn't new at all) is being developed is because the production capacity of oil that is cheap to extract and refine has peaked and will only become more and more expensive and less and less energy efficient.

And Gingrich is supposed to be the 'smart' one of the bunch???
