According to his own aides, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump did not even realize when planning the Republican National Convention that the event had to be Cleveland.
The New York Times has a piece Friday morning detailing Trumps extravagant demands and notions about the upcoming convention. However, Trumps plans were at many times stymied by a complete lack of understanding of the convention process. At one point, two aides confirmed, Mr. Trump was not even aware that the event had to be held in Cleveland, a decision made almost two years ago by the Republican National Committee, they report.
Among Trumps other more unfeasible plans was renting out an open-air stadium to ride a helicopter onto the main stage, or firing off fireworks inside the venue. Both ideas were unfortunately axed for being too expensive and unworkable respectively.
A more feasible suggestion was that Trump enter Cleveland by train, but Trump nixed that one. Its been done, he complained.

(22,052 posts)How is it that so many people can't see it?
Every single day we here another story detailing how Mr. Trump is clueless about the electoral process and laws. He sent fundraising solicitations to foreign nationals. His campaign organization is paltry and not set up nationally. He doesn't comprehend the functions of various governmental agencies. And more and more.
Donald Trump is an idiot. So are his followers.

(17,608 posts)My opinion?
Those people who can't see it, mostly are blinded by the blackness of Obama and/or the femaleness of Hillary.
A small minority are blinded by their version of the Bible exhorting them (they believe) against abortion and homosexuality and their compulsion to impose those beliefs on everyone else.

(22,052 posts)I agree with your list but it goes further. Mr. Trump's followers are ignorant and proud of it.
They consistently vote against their own interests.
George W. Bush taught them to not use their minds but to "go with their guts."
They listen to hate from so-called religious leaders who fleece them of their money and souls.
It goes on but clearly you and I agree.
