In a speech to union members in D.C. on Tuesday, Chris Shelton, president of the 700,000-member Communications Workers of America, said that while Clinton is not a perfect candidate, she is the candidate the union needs to get behind immediately.
Bernie is not going to be the nominee. Hillary Rodham Clinton will be, Shelton said. And whatever you think of Secretary Clinton I happen to think she was a damn good senator from New York and that a lot of the hostility against her is attributable to out-and-out sexism and to the vast right-wing conspiracy she is the candidate who is running against Donald Trump. And brothers and sisters, we must stop Donald Trump from becoming president.

Nice to see that the real world is rallying around the nominee.

(6,976 posts)What a wonderful endorsement from Mr. Shelton. We do have to fight like hell to make sure that dangerous ass clown Donald Trump doesn't make his way into the White House. These last 2 or so days have proven that the man is a liar, unintelligent, racist, bigoted and extremely dangerous.

(6,976 posts)Mr. Shelton could have kept his endorsement and not endorsed Hillary Clinton at all because after all, he and his union were solidly behind Bernie Sanders. But since they/he know who the nominee for POTUS will be they chose to not sit on the sidelines and rally their support behind Hillary Clinton.
We see and interpret this endorsement differently. I interpret this endorsement and pledged support of Hillary Clinton as a very good/positive thing.
