Canvasing in Va - our last door today was an 18 year girl who is voting in her first election

I don't have a door count from today. My wife and I started at 10 and completed 3 packets by 3pm. We got another packet for apartments and the very last door that we knocked on was an 18 year girl and her mom. This was the girl's first vote and it is for OBAMA and Tim KAINE!!!

I sometimes wonder if the door to door thing is effective at all. Of course I'm one of those people who doesn't open the door to door-to-door people, so it's not effective for me.

we informed one man where his wife would vote

Then we got to Daniel. He is a socialist but he can't find any socialist to vote for "down here" (he is from NYC). I informed him that Allen named at least one of his kids after the founder of the KKK - His jaw dropped. We had notes from whomever visited he and his wife before that they were pro-Obama but undecided on Kaine. He said, "You have my support". We high-fived on the way back to the car.
