Wrong on both premises-no unity and the announcement had the full approval of Clinton. JimDandy Jun 2016 #11

or barely touched on (e.g. Edwards in 2008) in the national debate.
These items need to be addressed in the democratic platform.

They're not going to wait until it's advantageous for one candidate or the other. That would be irresponsible.

Would the timing have been better if it had happened tonight? Sure, but the reality is that the numbers were there yesterday.

AP was just doing its job, trying to get a scoop. They are likely right. It's highly likely that Hillary Clinton will be the nominee.

It's going to be an interesting evening. I hardly ever watch cable/network news coverage anymore, but I think I'll make an exception tonight.

I've been a staunch Hillary supporter and was quite happy to wait for tonight's result and the prospect of my native state, New Jersey, taking HRC across the finish line. The media stole everyone's thunder, both for Hillary and Bernie supporters. That sucks but it is what it is.

I think we are united in our displeasure with the media jumping the gun. It's a first small step but we'll get there. We have to because the alternative of a Donald Trump in the WH is unthinkable.

No media outlet would do that without at least the tacit, and more likely the expressed, approval of Clinton. If you think otherwise, the political arena is not for you.

And the Clinton Crowers on DU disagree with your unity belief. Look right here in your thread and on threads all over DU yesterday. They looooove Clinton's decision. And Sanders supporters? Well, an MSNBC story just announced that the latest polling showed a large number of his supporters will not be supporting Hillary.

Clearly no unity-just entrenched resolve on both sides: The cult of Clinton is fine with Clinton's "win at all costs" tactics, and Bernie supporters principles won't allow them to cotton to the "lesser of two evils" argument from the Clinton camp.
