I was wondering why this hadn't gone viral yet. I don't care what Romney's religion is. Harry Reid is an awesome LDS senator. What is troubling - is that I don't want to hear another Republican poitician or one of their fans telling me what to believe.

"A day before the election, a video that depicts a visibly angry Mitt Romney defending his faith has become a viral hit.
The clip, which according to news reports comes from a 2007 conversation the typically reserved GOP presidential candidate had with an Iowa radio talk show host, shows Romney engaging in a theological discussion that touches on subjects ranging from abortion to the second coming of Christ.
Im not running as a Mormon, Romney said on the video which has been viewed more than 1 million times. And I get a little tired of coming on a show like yours and having it [be] all about Mormons.
"The host of the conservative show, Jan Mickelson, had pushed Romney to explain how Mormons, adhering to religious texts, could also be pro-abortion rights, according to report."

(135,425 posts)These are traits we want in a President? I wouldn't want them in a sanitation engineer!
At the end Mitt says he vetoed every piece of legislation that promoted choice when he was Governor. This guy will bring us back to a dark time in our history. He also says Jesus will come and rule from Israel and Missouri.

(135,425 posts)Of course, the MA legislature would promptly override everything he vetoed, and make it law. Money Boo Boo was simply a big fat speed bump to the passage of laws for the people of the Commonwealth--he was a joke, insignificant, a plaything to be mocked.
Truth is, the Governor in MA--like the Governor in TX--is a weak executive. There's a lot of strutting, but very little power, there. It's one of those jobs where a Bully pulpit and a willingness to work an issue/schmooze/take it to the streets is what's needed to get an agenda enacted. Boo Boo had none of those skills, he was hardly ever there, so he was simply an annoyance on most days that he bothered to show up.

(6,286 posts)I saw it a long time ago just poking around, and a couple of times since, and I'm not exactly the bellwether for these sorts of things. Usually I'm the last one to see stuff. He really is combative in that piece though, isn't he?

(8,377 posts)In fact the radio host was highly ALIGNED with Romney. This was a FRIENDLY interview and Romney still erupted. Just imagine what would happen if somebody asked him about the more bizarre elements of the faith (seer rocks, magic undergarments etc) or the economic corruption that makes the Mormon church look more like the Mafia than a real religion.
He bit this guy's head off and the guy was in full agreement with him.
And WTF was that about Jesus ruling from Missouri? Does Jesus think that the laws of Missouri will be conducive to the Son of God? What the hell? If he's the Son of God, he can rule from EVERYWHERE.
(cue the orchestra) "And now appearing live from the Heart of Missouri to speak to your soul and lift up your hearts, let's give it up for Mister Right-Hand-of-God himself, Jesus Chriiiiiiist !!!!!!!!"
What kind of sense does any of that make?

get into heaven, according to mitt romney, who they will be voting for.
i really don't understand why they claim to vote based on religion, when President Obama's
religion is much closer to their's than Romney's is. Romney's religion is a cult. plain and simple.
