I had to tell my wife to vote for Romney

Here in blue Washington state, Romney doesn't stand a fucking chance in hell. However, I'm still voting for Obama. In fact, I'm voting straight Democratic Party. Where there's a choice between Democrats, I'm going with the more progressive one.

By some fluke, I prevailed upon my RW wife in 2010 to vote almost straight Democratic Party. She appears to have gone further right in the last 2 years.

I had almost been dreading her going through her ballot. I figured she was going to vote mostly Republican, and if she forgot about it then that would keep some GOP votes out of the hopper.

As she was going through her ballot, me dreading it, she finally said, "So which one do you want me to vote Republican? President or Governor?"

WTF?!

She wasn't going to vote for a Democrat for both Governor and President. So she asked me to pick. Obama is a lock in this state, and we need Jay Inslee as Governor. I said vote for Inslee for Governor.

Still shaking my head that this is the level of thought in her voting decisions.

....when I first married my wife and the first election came up, she became somewhat perplexed. Ever since we met I had been talking politics to her, carefully explaining about the evil and the greed that pervades the right wing of today, but never trying to exact a promise of her that she would vote along with me.

When the first election came up, just before it was time to vote, completely unprovoked she blurted out to me one evening that her family had always voted Puke as if to imply that she was bound by some family code to follow suite. I said not a word, but I did keep up with my talking politics to her. Gradually, she began to become an avid follower of the same shows on Pacifica Radio that I used to listen to, and little by little during our 25 years of marriage, she came around in her way of thinking. That is, until she divorced me. During a conversation that we had subsequent to our breakup, it came out that she now thought highly of Lush Rimjob and his fascist radio talk show. Go figure.

Has always been. Voted for Obama in 08 and will vote for him again. He reapply likes him. He thinks PO is a genuine person. This doesn't mezn he's a DEM. He'd still votes repub innour local races.

We have been married 16 years and we have fights most of the time about politics.

But I do love the fact he lies Obama.

PLUS She has no conviction or she would not be willing to vote for a Dem for Governor OR President

Just end it now and file for divorce
