2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe pressure of the campaign trail. Hillary handles it like a total pro.
She's already proven that in terms of temperament and cool under pressure, she's miles ahead of anyone else running.
All of the other major candidates on either side have had meltdowns. Rubio had a few, once in the debate, and then also when he got sick of Trump pushing him around and starting talking about Trumps hand size. Cruz lost it when Trump said his dad helped assassinate JFK. Bernie's been acting increasingly weird, starting with his walking away from the question about Nevada, and then that strange non-apology press release that drew universal condemnation. Trump has always been nuts, but he really lost it this week, out of control like never before.
And then there's Hillary, cool and collected. She's under more pressure than any of those guys. She's getting hit from the right by Trump, from the left by Bernie, and she's got the emails hanging there. And on top of that the pressure that she's the only person that can save the planet from Trump.
Really amazing her composure and her strength.

(646 posts)Rise, Hillary, Rise
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits' end, but she has always risen, always risen, don't forget she has always risen, much to the dismay of her adversaries and the delight of her friends.
Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her.
There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you're born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female. But to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies. Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country. Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to be what it can become.
She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace. She is the prayer of every woman and man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.
She means to rise.
Don't give up on Hillary. In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country the wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety and without crippling fear.
Rise, Hillary.
Rise.

(9,385 posts)And if she's so composed, why won't she talk to the State Dept. about the lousy job she did there in handling her emails?
She's the one who has repeatedly lost it under pressure:
At her fundraiser when she brushed off Ashley Williams
When she poked the climate woman who asked her a question
When she snapped "that isn't going to happen" about the indictment question
When she said Nancy Reagan helped with AIDS
I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Seems to me she goes haywire on a regular basis, so I don't know what you're talking about, I can only say "no sale!".
