(1,446 posts)says that she wants tighter regulation on nuclear power and fracking until they can be eliminated and replaced with clean, renewable energy sources. She is a realist and knows that Americans use huge amounts of energy, so is looking long term.
Cheese Sandwich
(9,086 posts)Hillary has been a supporter of fracking and helped push it around the world to pump up the profits of US-based multinational corporations. I heard Hillary's statements on fracking and it's a totally meaningless smokescreen designed to give cover to her real policy which is drill baby drill.

Cheese Sandwich
(9,086 posts)2) The rise of ISIS can be most closely tied to the decision to invade and occupy Iraq in the first place. Stop blaming Obama. You're blaming Obama for ISIS. Stop blaming Obama.
It was well known that the country would not hold together if the central government was destroyed.

(36,649 posts)The RW anti-Democrat "Not Hillary" Party is intent on absolving Republicans of each & every last one of their sins, without regard to any actual responsibility, and they take those sins and assign them to any Democrat who is handy - again, without regard to their actual responsibility. A year ago they were attacking Obama, and now that Clinton has risen to prominence, it's her turn to take the blame or at least - or at least the caricature of her created by the fascists who hate her.

(1,151 posts)Bernie Lockheed Martin Sanders is the only one who gets a pass for voting for intervention abroad, I guess.
If you're going to use the warmonger neocon line of attack, you better apply your standards consistently. There is NO candidate in this race, and for that matter, NO candidate that is viable in American politics that can meet those standards. Neither Bernie or Hillary are acceptable from a pacifist or non-interventionist standpoint. The problem is of course that a real non-interventionist is probably unelectable and will lose to hardcore warmongers in the GOP.

She is responsible for every human tragedy since the fall of Rome. In fact she's responsible for that too.
She wiped out most of Europe with Plague and then single handedly started WW1 and WW2.
She pushed the Native Americans onto the trail of tears and was responsible for slavery and the civil war.
I mean didn't you know? If you listened to her detractors you could certainly get this impression.

We have disabilities in this country (including some from Agent Orange and lead) but we also have great medical care for our children. We used depleted uranium and heaven knows what else in a war built around lies and those mothers and children do not have the kind of medical help we do. We bombed their country to hell and all the services they used to have with it.

(45,319 posts)Sierra Blanca never got any such waste. Sierra Blanca did serve as the sewage treatment site for train loads of NYC sludge for many many years.
This happened, but no one speaks of it:
"This week the Texas Toxic Tour takes us to Sierra Blanca Texas, home to the nation's largest sewage sludge dump. The story examines how Sierra Blanca, a small town on the U.S./Mexico border, became the resting place for New York City's sewage. The video interview includes a meeting with several local residents concerned with unusual health problems. Additionally, this segment will focus on how the TNRCC ignored local health concerns and illegal dumping to support tripling New York's waste being dumped in the Lonestar State. "
http://www.txpeer.org/toxictour/merco.html
They called the trains 'The Poo Poo Choo Choo'. Went on for years. Never mentioned by those affecting great concern for that community......

Now that the leading Democratic candidate was a supporter of the Iraq War, and just about all other US wars, the phonies couldn't care less about these wars and the death and destruction they caused. The destroyed lives of relatively powerless people in third-world countries mean nothing to these bigots.

(25,598 posts)"Cheese is philosophically interesting as a food whose qualities depend on the action of bacteria -- it is, as James Joyce remarked, 'the corpse of milk.' Dead milk, live bacteria. ... The process of ripening in cheese is a little like the human acquisition of wisdom and maturity: both processes involve a recognition, or incorporation, of the fact that life is an incurable disease with a hundred percent mortality rate -- a slow variety of death. Still, there are a lot of very good cheese shops in France." (The Debt to Pleasure, John Lanchester)
