Related: About this forumHillary Clinton is more hawkish than Trump by moving to the right
That is sad and scary that this is the reality of the situation. Dark days ahead for the the Democratic party.

(27,310 posts)With a few deletions and emendations here and there, this could have been Marco Rubios stump speech. It was many clicks to the right of Barack Obama

I should accept a "shithead's" analysis? I don't think so.

(1,442 posts)excerpts from her speech today
"Fifth, we need a real plan for confronting terrorists. As we saw six months ago in San Bernardino, the threat is real and urgent. Over the past year, Ive laid out my plans for defeating ISIS.
We need to take out their strongholds in Iraq and Syria by intensifying the air campaign and stepping up our support for Arab and Kurdish forces on the ground."
Now she's throwing Obama under the bus? 'we need a real plan for confronting terrorists'? Obama doesn't have a real plan being acted upon currently?
"And one more thing. A President has a sacred responsibility to send our troops into battle only if we absolutely must, and only with a clear and well-thought-out strategy. Our troops give their all. They deserve a commander-in-chief who knows that."
Where does Libya fall into the category of 'well thought out'?

(11,605 posts)But I read something recently in the NYT that made me realize she really believes it. That scares me.
That said, I am a LOT more comfortable with Hillary having the nuclear launch codes than Trump. Even if the policies she advocates are more hawkish, she is not crazy and unstable, and she knows what she is doing.

(889 posts)A no-fly zone over Syria could very well spark a war between the US and Russia. Putin would not back down. It would be 1914 all over again.
Has Trump advocated such an insane policy? No. So the original poster is, sadly, correct. Hillary is more hawkish than anybody.
No more wars, please.

(889 posts)Some people say that a write-in vote for Bernie in the general election is mathematically a vote for Trump. I respect that argument.
But suppose you are offered a choice, to be poked in one eye (ie, vote for Hillary), or be poked in both eyes (ie, vote for Trump). Which would you choose?
As for me, I would reject the entire premise. I don't want to be poked in the eye, period. So I would write-in Bernie, and then let the chips fall where they may.
