Here Are Hillary Clinton's Private Email Server Misstatements

Here Are Hillary Clinton's Private Email Server Misstatements

by The Associated Press

Over the months, Clinton misstated key facts about her use of private email and her own server.

Over the months, Hillary Clinton misstated key facts about her use of private email and her own server for her work as secretary of state, the department’s inspector general reported this week.

According to the findings, she claimed approval she didn’t have and declined to be interviewed for the report despite saying: “I’m more than ready to talk to anybody anytime.” Scrutiny of her unusual email practices appeared to be unwelcome, despite her contention those practices were well known and “fully above board.”

A look at some of Clinton’s past claims about her unusual email set-up and how they compare with the inspector general’s findings:

~snip~

Clinton: “I think last August I made it clear I’m more than ready to talk to anybody anytime. — CBS News interview in May.

The Report: Clinton declined through her lawyer to be interviewed for the report. Four other secretaries of state participated: John Kerry, Madeleine Albright, Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell. She now says: “everything I had to say was out there.”...

Wouldn't you think that she would have researched her own history to ensure she made the most credible and honest statements possible?
I would have thought that seeing her husband's "misstatements" and misunderstanding of the word "is," along with what counts as sex and the consequences would have been somewhat instructive. A person who intends to be the leader of our country should probably avoid "misspeaking" or "misinterpreting" rules and why they're there.

I am ashamed to have been a staunch defender of Bill after having been closer to a sexual harrassment situation. By now an expectation of widespread defense of negligent, unethical behavior is way too much to ask.

22. I do not agree with the word "misstatements"
Tue May 31, 2016, 09:58 AM

It's kind of like when she "misspoke" claiming to dodge sniper fire in Bosnia when pressed to provide phone call at 3AM experiences after she struggled to do so. She simply didn't expect anyone would come up with video of the Bosnia arrival event. It had to be quite embarrassing when they did.

These "misstatements" are lies or deceptions designed to mislead the American public on what she did with respect to this email issue. It's that simple. For a while, they were effective misdirection. To some extent, they're still effective because many people still do not see these "misstatements" for what they really are. There have been way too many "misstatements", starting with her first press conference in March, 2015, within carefully scripted campaign responses to the media, for them to be continued to be reasonably categorized as "misstatements". But the GOP, the authorities and media are going to grind them down - as they should because they've been proven to be not honest nor accurate statements.

Now some will try to blame it all on Bernie's supporters but Bernie's supporters aren't the one telling fibs and doing the misleading here. It's our Democratic duty to speak up when we see wrong doing. That duty doesn't end just because the candidate uttering them is in our party. That duty applies to all candidates - Sanders included. When the general election gets going, it won't be Bernie's supporters howling about this stuff. It will be the GOP and mainstream media. Then Hillary's supporters can try to blame them. But none of that blame or misleading words like "misstatement" will stick or change the fact that Hillary has not been honest here.

This is just another scandal, in a long list of scandal or examples, of Hillary misleading Americans that has resulted in 60% or more of America not trusting her. Hillary earned that result with her behavior - not because of Bernie Sanders or his supporters. The only one at fault who should bear the responsibility for that is the person who has been caught not being honest.

Does that mean I want Donald Trump? Absolutely not! But a candidate behaving this way could deliver the Oval Office to Donald Trump - that's my fear. If that comes to pass, that's going to be a really upsetting day for Clinton and Sanders supporters, Democrats - and eventually most of the country.

I supported Hillary Clinton at the start of 2015. She lost my support because of behavior like this.

As a number in the media have stated, Hillary put her needs for secrecy ahead of the country's need for security of classified information. This wasn't merely a little "mistake". If this garbage is going to continue, she should be a real leader of the Democratic party and put Democrats ahead of her and withdraw. Give the baton to Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren or Bernie or someone who will not risk losing the White House to an idiot like Donald Trump.

Clinton supporters are howling how Sanders supporters should get behind Hillary. What about the notion of Hillary getting behind the things she really supposedly believes in aside from her own career and place in US history. Biden or Warren would destroy Trump and leave nothing to chance in a race for the White House.

But if Hillary gets indicted or when the GOP take a run at her for the billions the Clinton Foundation got, the Democrats hanging on to the Oval Office and all that we worked for with Obama is in jeopardy - primarily because our standard bearer is not honest and the majority of the country do not trust her.

with the American people.

The Democratic party really needs to take a hard honest look at the mess Hillary has created for her campaign and the party.

Hillary's non stop shenanigans could end up putting Trump in the White house and costing the party dearly.

"The Democratic party really needs to take a hard honest look at the mess Hillary has created"

Not because I do not completely agree but because I feel that the DNC is corrupt and in Hillary's pocket as well. So it's not going to happen from them. Party leadership like Obama or others may need to step up here.

In fifty years, I've never felt that way about the DNC. The thought never entered my head.

I've never felt this way about a likely Democratic candidate for president. Always got behind them even if they were not my first choice (though often they were my first choice).

I saw it with Nixon and I saw it within the Republicans for decades. But never before have I had this feeling about the Democratic party.

Another worry might be a third party candidate who jumps in because they see an opportunity. I continue to feel, in spite of some past rebuttal, that Ross Perot helped Bill Clinton. Some say Nader helped George Bush over Gore. This situation is ripe for something like that and depending on who throws their hat into the ring, if they do, it could sway the result to Trump or Clinton.

As we all know, a Democratic President with veto power would ensure the gains made under Obama would be retained regardless of who controls the House or Senate and sway the Supreme Court in favor of the Dems. So this is a big deal for many who worked for those gains and the many who benefited from them. It's such a big deal, everything that can be done, should be done to make sure the Dems come out on top here. If that means pushing Hillary aside, so be it.
