Bernie Sanders Has Worn Out His Welcome in the Democratic Party

Bernie Sanders has worn out his welcome in the Democratic Party with the endless and childish temper tantrums.

In fact, I thought he hit a new low by pushing to debate Donald Trump, but he sunk lower than that when he demanded that Barney Frank and Dan Malloy be unseated from key committees in the Democratic National Committee because they have been critical of him in the past.

It's almost like you go through the "7 stages of death & dying" when reading his posts. It starts with the face palm:

...and ends with something that's not quite "acceptance," but is a kind of "I admire his tenacity" and his paper-thin transparency when it comes to the copy and paste. It's not even paper, it's more like one of those spider webs you see woven against tree branches in the early morning sun. It's there, but you see right through it.

When 99% of the "new members" waging war in GD-P are forgotten after the GE, I think our friend here will ultimately be remembered for a much-needed (although perhaps unintentional) dose of comedy relief.

In 1998, DMX was the hottest rapper alive. This week, police resuscitated him after a possible overdose in a Ramada Inn parking lot. How the Ruff Ryder lost his way.

as it became apparent (from the beginning) that millions were actually joyful and grateful they finally had someone to vote for who didn't represent the corporations, war machine and billionaires deciding the fate of all those beneath them. From new voters to elderly who want real change. I think the PTB and DNC were shocked at his popularity - DWS snatched that welcome mat back quicker than a speeding bullet.

He doesn't have empty sloganeering - he's got decency and determination to make change for all those suffering. Must suck to be so empty inside to brush it off as nothing. Maintaining the status quo harming so many is so much more important for those who hate him than to see others lives improve. Good for you.

Bernie, reminding America of what the Democratic Party once STOOD FOR and FOUGHT for!!!
The NERVE!!!

Imagine, saying things like THIS:

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

*The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

*The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

*The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

*The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

*The right of every family to a decent home;

*The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

*The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

*The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

America's own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for all our citizens.

Please note that the above are stipulated as Basic Human RIGHTS to be protected by our government,
and NOT as COMMODITIES to be SOLD to Americans by For Profit Corporations.

We could have ALL that and more if our priorities were sane.

Oops.
My bad.
The above was FDR, the Father of the Modern Democratic Party,
but Bernie HAS picked up that torch, and at times, sounds like FDR.
You will NEVER hear Hillary say any of these things.

Thank You, Bernie, for reminding us who we are, and what we are supposed to be fighting for.

When Bernie is no longer welcome in the Democratic Party, then neither am I.

the 50s, but especially the 60s & 70s were a better time.
LBJ's Great Society, War on Poverty, Medicare/Medicaid, and Civil Rights Act were tremendous achievements of the Democratic Party.

IT wasn't perfect. But we WERE moving in the right direction, sometimes by leaps and bounds. There was HOPE and UNITY of purpose. The goals of FDR were in our sights.
Unlike today, where we are steadily loosing ground, and it IS the conservative Clinton Democrats who are actively undoing the advances we made in to 60s.

I grew up in the 50s and 60s.
Back then, a single, blue collar worker could:
*Raise a family in relative comfort

*Enjoyed Job Security and some benefits even if NOT in a Union

*afford Health Care

*Buy a new American car every few years

*Send his/her children through University and grad school

*Take a real vacation every year

*Buy and pay off a comfortable home

*Save for retirement.

Those days are GONE, but we could have them again IF we had a Party that represents the Working Class and Poor.

No, things weren't perfect, especially for PoC... but the Democratic Party saw that, and took steps to fix that problem, most notably the Civil Rights Act of 1964, among others.

LBJ signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with a smiling Dr Martin Luther King looking over his shoulder.

NO. Things weren't perfect for everybody, but we WERE getting closer, and life was getting better.
Today, we are regressing and life for the 99% is getting worse by the year.....watching the hard earned Democratic Party Achievements of FDR, JFK, and LBJ slip sliding away, a piece at a time with the help of the "Centrist" Conservative Democrats.

---bvar22

I want a party that will STAND UP for Working Americans."

Tue May 31, 2016, 08:07 AM

Riddle me this:

When was the last time a Democratic Presidential Candidate won by more than 10 million votes?

May I suggest that maybe, just maybe, OPs like this are intended to turn what should be a cake walk of a GE into a horserace by driving liberals away from the voting booths?

For the DLC/Third Way, that's a win-win. Regardless of whether Secretary Clinton wins or loses, driving liberals out of the party cements its hold on the party apparatus AND, as cataclysmic as a Trump presidency would be, it won't empty their money-lined pockets, it won't be their children dying in Iran and Syria, it won't be their children who are murdered without consequence by the thin blue line, and it won't be them who lose their homes and jobs.

Tue May 31, 2016, 12:37 PM

Both the attempt to debate Trump and wanting to remove Barney Frank and Dan Malloy are desperate moves.

He knew the system in place when he announced his candidacy. He knew he'd have to register as a Democrat and accept everything (including the superdelegates) that goes with it when running for the highest office in the land.

Bernie has pushed the Dems farther to the left which was the right thing to do. He got issues on the table that would have been otherwise ignored, by both parties. He gets credit for having an impact on Hillary's platform.

The clock is past the countdown for his viability as a candidate. He should accept the will of the voters when the time comes. It's been expected of all candidates in the past and he is no different.

When you lose, lose gracefully, with honor.

This party has put up with the likes of blue dogs and cowards who voted against Democratic prinicples for decades -- and Bernie's voted with the party 93% of the time.

Before you'd even breathe a mumbling word about kicking Bernie out you'd have to explain the stupidity of keeping a bunch of Joe Liebermans and the blue dog coalition around all this time.

singing to your tune, spreading your fairy dust and giggles, finally being able to wrap up the nomination, stopping the humiliation of campaigning to half empty high school gymnasium audiences of people, still having to raise large sums of money for the primary. The annoyance of having to "handle" the rest of the primaries as well. And last but not the least, all of those nagging questions that are still hanging out there. Many brought up by Bernie Sanders and many by Bernie Sanders supporters. The difference between the two candidates is staggering. One dogged by REAL monumental scandals that can hurt this country and seriously interfere with the country's functioning. The other candidate that does not have anywhere the baggage no matter how the Hillary Clinton supporters want to try to inflate the little questions and issues that Bernie Sanders may have.

Yes, Bernie Sanders has worn out his welcome. He has proved to be a much more potent adversary that the DNC ever thought that he could be which means he is a much more capable, more shrewd, more popular, more tenacious than the DNC and Hillary Clinton ever dreamed. Either that or Hillary Clinton just a plain crappy choice for the Democratic President of the United States of America.
