Augusta Chronicle editorial: Of hypocrisy, imperiousness and accountability

Hillary Clinton has no one else to blame for her growing email scandal
By Augusta Chronicle Editorial Staff

It’s safe to say a low-level employee would face possible termination for such carelessness and violations of protocol and policy. Moreover, some in the government have been criminally charged and convicted for less-wanton negligence with national secrets. Yet Hillary Clinton is a leading contender to be our next president?

What, at that point, would anything matter? What, at that point, could possibly disqualify someone from the presidency?

The Clinton camp may argue that other secretaries of state were likewise lackadaisical with emails and public records. The IG report notes it.

Big difference, however. It’s not been shown anyone else was as reckless with national security as Clinton. In addition, none of them had the reputation for prevarication that Mrs. Clinton does. Remember, “liar” was the main word Americans associated her with in a Quinnipiac poll last year.
