(10,721 posts)Since Clinton is relying upon the Obama Coalition, the BoBers won't have much impact if few of them contributed to Obama's electoral college landslides. Provided they don't vote for Trump out of spite. If they vote for Stein or don't vote at all, their impact won't be felt.

AUTOMATED MESSAGE: Results of your Jury Service
On Sat May 28, 2016, 02:27 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Trump is no better than Clinton
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=2075207
REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This is over the top. Hillary is not a bigot like Trump.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat May 28, 2016, 02:35 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: I disagree with the reason for the alert and the opinion stated, so making a decision was difficult - the OP is offensive as well. Came to my decision because either Democratic candidate is superior to Trump. A sack of shit is superior to Trump. Whose child is friends with someone else's child is irrelevant.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Another alert for no reason. MOVE ON!
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's about time someone said it. The truth hurts, but Trump IS the establishment and he's been one of the Clinton's puppet masters for years.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Trump *is* worse than Clinton.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Regardless of the irrelevant relationship of anyone's daughters, or even how much you dislike Hillary, she is nowhere near the caliber of revolting behavior and 'opinions' as Trump.
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(4,667 posts)See this- this is why I feel this way.
I know for a fact that Clinton supports this program, if the US loses the dispute in the WTO, lots of people will lose their jobs and be replaced by people making 1/4 as muuch. Read closely, if we lose, and I think that will probably be the case, because thats what the GATS says, india now has a legal right to force us to comply with WTO rules-
maybe several tens of millions of precious vanishing jobs could end up being lost if WTO rules in their favor. because the quotas that have limited these L-1 numbers would be gone.

Look at the first link in my sig. its about health care and the same FTA.. thats what was being done in 1994, at the same time as Hillary's health care program.
its why we are in health care limbo. During those 20+ years around 1.4 million more Americans have died than would have if we had a modern, truly universal healthcare system like other rich countries.

(5,240 posts)My vote doesn't count.
And "Bernie or Bust" is not "Bernie or Trump" unless you are afraid Hillary can't win which is my opinion and in that case voting for Hillary in the Primary is voting for Trump.

(23,156 posts)have been totally dismissive of Bernie and his supporters, it's obvious they don't think they need our votes.
They seem to forget that in the general election independents, and independently thinking Democrats still might vote. Or that they would need their votes.

(11,142 posts)So much for "not being allowed to."
Nader's supporters also complain that Bush's victories shouldn't be blamed on them. Yet no one listens, because basic logic isn't subjective or open to debate.
Buns_of_Fire
(17,197 posts)I've just gotten really tired of the "if you're committed to Bernie, you're just a Rump supporter!" meme. It's insulting, and probably not the best way to woo people to the HILLARY! camp.
And, by the way, the "Nader supporters cost Gore the election" has been trashed out more times than I can count over the last fifteen years or so. By and large, it looks like Gore just flat blew it (even though he won the popular vote).
BzaDem
(11,142 posts)It was not a broad statement about anyone "committed to Bernie." Most people committed to Bernie in the primary will do the right thing in the general.
On the other hand, if you are saying that people who don't vote for HRC aren't aiding and abetting Trump's election, well, you should get used to the "meme" (since it happens to be accurate).
Garrett78
(10,721 posts)Among those who won't, I can't help but think most of them didn't vote for Obama either, meaning their impact won't be felt. Because all Clinton really needs is for most of those who voted for Obama to vote for her.
YouDig
(2,280 posts)There is no such thing as "Bust". There is only "Trump". And in two weeks, the "Bernie" part will be gone, and "Bernie or Bust" will stand for Trump and only Trump.

(502 posts)But if you don't vote for Bernie, you're voting for Trump by default.
Hillary would get crushed in a general.

(10,721 posts)After all, there's a pretty broad consensus outside of the DU bubble that says Clinton is a heavy favorite to win in November. Which blue and swing states do you foresee Trump winning?

HassleCat
(6,409 posts)Some Democrats are going to leave the presidential ballot blank. This may or may not lead to a Trump win. This happens every election. Voters unhappy with the party choice refuse to vote,or even vote for the other party's candidate. Many Republicans will not for Trump, and a fair number will vote for Clinton. This should more than offset any Bernie or Bust voting.

(10,007 posts)Of all the available candidates, I will vote for the one that most closely represents my interests. If the Democrats want my vote, then they will nominate a candidate that earns it.
