Demanding to oust people from convention that he has no right to? Any legal beagles around that can assist with this question?

(68,696 posts)He has threatened to shut down the Democratic convention unless the DNC gives in to his demands...sounds like blackmail to me...he lawyered up and had them send as letter to the DNC...it is on this site. At the end of this campaign...when Bernie is dragged out kicking and screaming...it will be easier to list those entities he hasn't threatened to sue or sued.

(1,446 posts)some plans are being hatched, either for use to tame Sanders now, or punitively after he withdrawals. There is no way that the high ranking Dems are just sitting back and taking this.

(68,696 posts)Honestly, how could anyone even a Bernie supporter justify threatening to shut down the convention...Bernie the bully.
Pat Riots
(76 posts)1) Hillary's team is supposed to be seasoned and she is supposed to be the one who is strong enough to withstand GOP slime better than Bernie, and yet wilts before a pre convention procedural tactic (with OMG LAWYERS)...?
2) Bernie being willing to fight for advantage at the convention is what the people who voted for him want him to do. Tough luck if you don't like it. We didn't like DWS throwing her weight around the entire primary and we are not going to passively accept committees being chaired by active attack surrogates. This is a competition. 3) The DNC knew what the probable reaction to appointing Malloy and Frank was going to be and did it anyway. Who is the bully? 4) If this kind of thing is bullying, Hillary will be no match for Trump. The gnashing of teeth about this does not inspire confidence. However, Bernie is proving that he does not quit easily. That attitude is long overdue in the left.

(59,504 posts)Please be clear on what exactly you are accusing him of threatening.
Don't you think your time could be better spent trying to defend Hillary Clinton to Sanders supporters - rather than attacking Bernie and them as well. It is pretty obvious that Hillary will be the defacto nominee in about 2 weeks and there is virtually no way that Bernie can change that. Therefore even just laying low for two weeks -- other than defending Clinton -- might be a better strategy in getting the independents who have been inspired by Bernie.
Bernie's support has included both people who have always voted for democrats, some who have donated time or money to them AND some non aligned independents, who "belong" to neither party. Clinton surrogates, paid or unpaid, on TV or on message boards, should worry that they could even push some of the first group to the point that they will grudgingly vote for HRC, but will not really be able to "sell" HRC to others. (I KNOW how hard it was phone banking or canvassing for Corzine in his election against Christie - even calling JUST Democrats to GOTV was painful and it really was impossible to get disgusted people to commit to vote for him.)
The latter group will be the part of the real battlefield. These are people who are not aligned to a party - getting them out is a harder lift. The Republicans have given us a gift of a truly unqualified nominee, but that does not mean we will not have to work very hard to get out both the Bernie and Clinton primary voters AND many who did not vote at all. One note of caution should be taken that when added together, more people voted in the Republican primary than in the Democratic one in many many states.
Follow where HRC was going (before the email outburst). She is transitioning to the GE -- and trying to unite the Democrats behind her. I hope that she chains in Brock et al - because, frankly they can't be attacking Sanders while she is herself reaching out - it is too cynical by half.

Hell, I think you have a stronger argument against the grocery. Still beyond utterly ridiculous of course but maybe more merit than the OP for sure. After all, you really do need to eat.
This is deeper in left field that a five year old trying to mount a suite against his mother for making him finish his dinner before he can have ice cream.
