Remember when the entire world danced in the streets on 11/4/08?

To cheer ourselves up, I thought we'd reminisce on the night of the election 2008. It was one big celebration, all over the world. Remember that?

Tell your stories here if you have any.

As for me, I remember being with my mom (RIP) and we cried and watched tv all night, shouting and laughing and crying. It was great.

The streets of DC were happy pandamonium, people dancing total strangers hugging and kissing each other! It was so wonderful.

I was working as an election judge. When I came home the race had just been called. My neighbors were dancing in the streets with pots and pans and making all sorts of racket. I joined them for a bit then had a nice victory drink. It was sweet.

I think this one will feel similar but in a different way. The honeymoon is over but anticipating 4 productive years of making things better is just as appealing.

When we got home, the election was called. We opened a bottle of champagne and watched TV for a couple of hours enjoying the show. We live out in the woods - no neighbors to share our joy with.

and I remember (not too much of course) hugging random people in the streets.

What a night. I was at a bar and shouted incredibly loud knowing it was over once they called Ohio. Actually it should have been obvious when PA was called so quickly.

Had baked an Obama 2008 Cake, and we had ice cream with it. That was after I was done jumping all over my living room like a nut.
