Do you realize how great Obama is doing in the swing states? Imagine the Reverse

I think progressives and Dems are so sort of prone to negativity. Therefore, we tend to be bad at the game of publicizing our good news. Therefore, we suck at the important game of political bravado. Just imagine if Romney was up or tied in every swing state poll released on Friday, except for one outlier poll in Florida that had difficulty polling a large segment of the electorate. Repubs would be renting their tuxedos for Inauguration Day already. I am not saying we should be cocky or prematurely think Obama's reelection is inevitable, but we need to exude more confidence rooted in empirical numbers. Yes, arithmetic is our friend.

because we now know that unthinkable acts can occur and go not only unpunished, but rendered "undiscussable".

And the ones that were around in 00 showed Bush with a very small lead in the EC and the pop vote.

Not overconfident or arrogant, but confident.

sometimes the Republican delusions work in their favor. But then again they have the media to feed their delusions and we don't get that help for our side.

That is telling. They have been right about that every time in modern history, with the possible exception of the razor thin Gore v Bush race.
