Gun Nuts on Contraception

A right-wing Facebook 'friend' of mine posted this today:

Paging Dr. Freud?

And if you dare ... and can stomach knowing the kind of sheer ugliness and hate the "other side" is spewing, here is the FB page where the above image came from: https://www.facebook.com/LiberalsAreHypocrites

Honestly, I was stunned to see that there are 'fellow' Americans this debased.
Although, I suppose it is helpful to understand what you are struggling against in the United States of 2012.

(By the way, I have no problem with gun ownership ... 'gun nuts' are a different breed, in my opinion.)

1. Maybe we should offer to buy them bullets. They can load their shot guns...

squeeze them between their knees and pull the trigger. That would be the cheap way to take care of the gun control issue. Do it like the republicans do!

3. I believe people should be able to buy a gun for hunting and protecting their property. But why

on earth does a person need 30 guns and rifles unless they plan to do something bad? I do have problems with gun crazy nuts who might try to take over our government because they don't like the way the election went.

6. Why do people need books of old stamps that have been canceled or coins that they will never spend?

I've got exactly 3 guns. 2 of them I inherited from my mother; a handgun and a shot gun. I own a rifle, because living in the country where there is a pack of coyotes living just across the ridge and where rabies is a common problem, I would rather not be approached by either one of the two.

To me guns are a tool, the same way stamps are a tool and coins are a tool. But other people, for whatever reason, collect them. It makes no sense to me, but I see nothing sinister in it either.

8. Where did I say you shouldn't have guns? I live in the rural area of Tn and we have coyotes

and the come around at night when I am not outside and they never bother we us and I sure don't bother with them, I don't own a gun or a rifle. All my neighbors have rifles because they hunt around here. I have no problems with hunters.

And where did I say you said you shouldn't have guns?

You asked "Why on earth does a person need 30 guns...", and with some degree of suspicious judgement in the questioning, I might add.

I was merely answering.

You asked a question, I answered it. You decided I was accusing you of something.

13. Ok lets move on from it. If I accused you of something except my apology. I didn't mean to.

I was really just making a general statement and not directed at one individual. I thank you for having a civil conversation.

14. Collecting history for one

I have collection of WWII weapons - owning a real piece of history fascinates me.

They also make a good investment - rare guns appreciate in value very nicely.

And they are fun to shoot - I am introducing my 14 year old son to a British Lee Enfield rifle this weekend.

And I have never committed an act of violence with any of my guns.

I am not trying to change anyone's mind about gun ownership. You are entitled. I have wonderful WWII, Korea, VN veterans in my home to tell me first count stories about their war experiences and also about their war wounds. That's enough of a thrill for me that I don't want to see them around my home ever. I also heard from my own mother's war experiences during WWII when bombs where dropped over her country and the fear she had. I wish I could not have those feelings then maybe I could be comfortable with guns. But I can't

On further reflection, about the Facebook page linked to in the OP ...

As long as the right-wing keeps going down the hateful path that is graphically demonstrated on that page, well, the Repuglicans could lose all fifty states this November.

And ... the images and messages on that page also show just how strong a defamation of character suit Ms. Fluke could have against Limbaugh. Most of that stuff is directly attributable to what Limbaugh said on his radio program.

I think she could take Limbaugh for hundreds of millions of dollars.
