If we go by signs...yeah, he could. His signs are all over the place including my front yard. This is the first REAL challenge he's had here. Every other year he may as well as run uncontended since the candidate was way too flighty and never very serious. Rob is the first serious candidate he's had to go against. That alone puts us ahead I think. Ryan won previously from many Dems voting for him, this time I don't think they will. He never projected himself so piously around here as he is this time around and a lot of people don't like that. The whole evangelical thing around here is a bit new.

due to redistricting. Zerban's real only hope was actually for a Romney/Ryan victory and then when Ryan resigned his seat he could have run again and maybe been the odds on favorite then.

Having a Congressional member contour to draw salary when they are not available to do the work they were elected to do, does not seem right to me.

But he'll probably lose.

It's not a deep red district. In fact, Obama won it in 2008. It is slightly redistricted to Ryan's favor for this election though. The DNC has been supporting Zerban and he's put a lot of ads on TV, so they think he has enough of a chance.

There hasn't been any polling that I'm aware of, but we shall see. I hope he rides an Obama/Baldwin wave to victory.
