Andrea Mitchell still asking what happened during the first debate?

Speaking with Secretary of Labor and they're talking about jobs and unemployment and out of the blue she asks "what happened during the first debate"?

Is she nuts? That happened 1 month ago and there've been 3 debates since. Get over it Andrea.

Four times my phone has rung in the last three hours; four times some idiot is asking me if I plan to vote for Scott Brown. We're taking turns having fun with the poor fools on the other end.

Scotty is desperately trying to snap up some of that "D" and Indy crossover he got in his last election. He's probably counting on a little sexism to get him over the hurdle, too.

I hope Warren hands him his ass.

15. MA has an unfortunate problem with sexism. We need to break down that barrier.

I really think, if we do it once, all bets will be off. The glass ceiling will be cracked but good.

It ain't over till it's over, so I will be lugging people to the polls on Tuesday 'con brio.'

Do you think they will have a pictorial of such a handover? Scotty has to find a way to earn a living now that he will be out of work.

that Obama was distracted, trying to think of a way to murder our Ambassador in cold blood and get away with it.

and of the Labor Secretary?? What's she supposed to say about a debate? What an idiotic question to ask her.

I hope she answered with an eye roll.

7. It will go down in the annals of debate lore - like Nixon's after 5 shadow.

It was weird.

I know he didn't anticipate Romney's "new" positions but, like a football team who must adjust its strategy at half time, he needed to respond quickly - to re-calculate, defend himself better and strongly call Romney out on his sudden changes of heart.

Strange that he wasn't more in tune with the mood of the audience as I read that he felt he did great afterwards and was shocked to hear from Axelrod and company that he blew it.

It will be analyzed/discussed years from now when the subject of prez debates comes up - like Al Gore's sighing and Poppy Bush looking at his watch.

. . . and do a 180 degree change on every position you've held and be declared the "winner." The media was suckered and smitten by Romney's so called assertiveness and didn't do their job by calling him to account on his lies. And many in the public took their cue right from the overreacting talking heads. I watched it with a group of people and we were all appalled at Romney's lies and even more appalled at much of the supposed progressive media's reaction afterwards. And that meme still exists even though we can look back on it now and see that Romney pulled an unprecedented switcheroo lie fest. To me he wasn't the winner in the first debate and won't be on election day either.

Andrea: Do you have any explanation for what happened in that first debate where the president by all accounts, by his own account, did not really show up and seem prepared?

She should still get over it though.
