Two Friday numbers that augur well for Obama

There are lots of ways to read Friday morning’s jobs numbers, but consider two as Election Day approaches: 8% and 67%.

The first is what unemployment did not rise to in October, thus depriving Republicans of a talking point against President Barack Obama as he and Mitt Romney close in on Nov. 6.

The second is Obama’s reelection chances on Intrade Friday morning, a gain of more than 1%.

Here’s investment advisor Josh Brown on the jobs report, specifically the unemployment rate: “This does augur well for Obama, especially if the game is really down to ‘undecided’ voters. Because even if the unemployment rate did tick up from 7.8 to 7.9%, it’s still a sub-8% number — the benchmark for the New Normal.”

I strongly disagree with the "New Normal" observation but the rest of the article is spot on.

plays right into the Romoney narrative. I think that is the most effective Romoney ad I have seen, it does make you think.
