(42,568 posts)Way out here in red state hell, I always assumed NH was a solid blue state. No?
For decades, NH was "the Alabama of New England" -- the backwater of right-wing sentiment in the area. It's only in recent years that it's moved more toward being a swing state.

(489 posts)We lost both of our fine Democratic members of Congress in the 2010 tidal wave. Kuster has a solid shot at winning back the 2nd CD seat. Shea Porter, not so much.

Not as far as I was concerned, anyway.
Yes, NH was as solid red as it could be as recently as 25 years ago. It morphed into deep purple, before Bill Clinton won it twice. If Gore had spent more than a half-hour in during the general election, he'd have won here, too.
NH is now a light blue. Give us time and it'll be solid.

(25,415 posts)Hope it turns blue like the rest of us in New England. I am from Connecticut, hence the name Jennicut. I have been to NH tons of times and my father in law lives there too, in Lyman. Spent lots of time in Franconia, Lincoln and Woodstock over the years and it feels like a home away from home.
