The Hill - "Liberal media turns on Sanders" - Oxymoron

If you are turning on Bernie Sanders, you are not liberal media. Bernie Sanders and his supporter do not need Mother Jones, Talking Points memo or the Daily Kos. They are running from a reality that even Fox News and the Wall Street Journal acknowledge, which is that Bernie is the stronger candidate. If they do not come to heel, millions of Bernie supporters will happily watch Fox News and read the Wall Street Journal, rather than the corporatist blather coming from these so-called liberal outlets.

Bernie Sanders is suddenly facing a barrage of criticism from liberal commentators.

As the fallout from last weekend’s Nevada Democratic convention spreads, sharply critical pieces about the White House hopeful and his campaign have appeared in progressive outlets such as Mother Jones, Talking Points Memo and Daily Kos within the past 48 hours.

* * *

“Progressive thought-leaders were early validators for Bernie Sanders’s candidacy, helping him define himself as a credible candidate for president,” said Democratic strategist Evan Stavisky.

“However, as it becomes clear to anyone who can do basic math that Hillary Clinton is going to be the Democratic nominee ... people who live in the real world see that the time has come for Bernie Sanders to say he did the best he could. Ultimately the math simply isn’t there for it to be viable.”

"They are running from a reality that even Fox News and the Wall Street Journal acknowledge, which is that Bernie is the stronger candidate"

Meanwhile...back at the farm, Joe Scarborough and guests (the corporate media ) start defending Bernie..suddenly Joe is trustworthy too?

posted on DU earlier today was a Rasmussen poll and Fox News poll that pointed to a Trump win vs Clinton .

Yet none of these sources, sources that Sander's supporters have known for manipulate the public for years, raises an single red flag.

I wonder why Fox news, WSJ, and Joe Scarborough have suddenly become such credible news sources for Sander's supporters?

It's pretty easy to drive a wedge into the party by simply being more fair to Sanders than the Democrats themselves are. It's also why you have Trump talking about how bad they were to Bernie and such.

Except for Rasmussen, no one should touch that with a ten foot poll, not even Republicans

pushing stories that seemingly promote Sanders as a "strong" candidate?

a). they would rather have Trump face off against the second-string Sanders
b). they want to fuel the Party rift and prevent Democrats from coalescing around Hillary
c). they're trying to weaken Hillary before the convention and push for Sanders
d). all of the above

If these rightwing outfits have already figured out that Sanders followers are this naive and impressionable, the exploitation is only going to get worse. Looking at all the Republican talking points they already use to attack Hillary, the plan appears to be working even better than they expected. Now this OP, a veritable genius, is telling other Sanders followers to abandon the longtime Democratic websites like Mother Jones, Talking Points memo and the Daily Kos because they're critical of their Dear Leader, and go to Fox News and read the Wall Street because they really, really love Bernie... no, really, they do.

I've heard two reasons:

a) He hasn't been vetted
b) He didn't even win the primary.

The two obvious responses to this are

a) He's having everything thrown at him right now, from tax returns to violence to Burlington college - what more vetting do you want?
b) He wins with independents, and he's strong enough with democrats where it matters. He's clearly ahead in polling for the general because of the groups he does well with.

Do you think that everyone will freak out when they say the word socialist? He's pretty much run on that word. Meanwhile Hillary's numbers continue to plummet. Is it really that far fetched?

...articles since he announced.

At TPM, Josh Marshall was nice about Sanders until recently. But on Twitter, Josh Marshall has been ridiculing Sanders supporters since at least the NY primary.

I think a lot of people are questioning Bernie now. I'm hearing it in everyday conversations on social media and offline. While the truly devoted would turn a blind eye to any of his behavior, regular everyday people think he's going scorched earth and they don't like it.
