He went to Washington to make things better for the people.
Many Democrats, former Democrats, Independents, and yes even Republicans have waited their entire lives for a man like Bernie to run for President.
When you deny people that, good luck in bringing them to the polls for your chosen establishment candidate who is the poster person for a system we are fed up with.

(7,820 posts)And no one else had any interest in taking on the Clinton machine. I don't think he envisioned the campaign catching fire like this. It did because he tapped into the mood in the country. His was a message many were hungry for. He came within striking distance. But honestly I think- for him and many of his supporters- this was always bigger than this election cycle. Anyone writing him or this movement off as a failure if he doesn't manage to get the nomination despite the huge odds against him is missing the point. Nearly half the party supported this "fringe" candidate and the fight for a more just and equal society will continue well past July or even November.

(3,733 posts)But for an outsider he's certainly been in Washington
a really long time.
He hasn't been as good at getting votes as he was at renaming post offices tho.

You don't speak for anyone but yourself. People do not react favorable to threats and intimidation.

(1,771 posts)Remember this is the same guy who "went to Washington to make things better for the people," but went around the will of the State Democratic Party when they rejected his participation in the Democratic Caucus.
You know I like Rose Colored Glasses as much as the next person. Especially when I'm really fucking high.
As I've mentioned before I am totally fascinated with this whole Bernie Thing. Hey, when you get a chance check out Collective Effervescence. Some interesting relationships to this thesis.
