Buzz Feed confirms my prediction of post storm campaigning 4 days latter.

Buzzfeed ran an article that echoed my predictions on Tuesday point by point illustrating how the numbers at campaign events have declined and the mood has changed. Part of that, I think is intentional by the campaigns to have more somber and subdued rallies, but the numbers on the VP candidates getting less thana 1000 is pretty telling.

Now its not so much about convincing people who to support but simply getting them focused on getting to the polls and voting, that each vote counts.

From BUZZFEED

Romney was routinely drawing more than 10,000 in his rallies — particularly after the first presidential debate — but this week it’s been 2,800 Roanoke; 4,200 in Jacksonville; 3,500 in Coral Gables; and 2,000 in Tampa. Obama, known for his reliably 50,000-person mega-rallies at this point in the campaign in 2008 was down to 2,600 in Green Bay & 4,600 in Las Vegas on Thursday.

For the running-mates it’s even worse. Joe Biden drew a paltry 475 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, while Paul Ryan aides optimistically put the crowd count for events in Greeley, Co. and Reno, Nev. at 1,000.

My article on Tuesday

Sandy has ended the 2012 campaign.

BUZZ Feed's article today

The Campaign Is Over, But The Election Isn't

http://www.buzzfeed.com/bensmith/the-campaign-is-over-but-the-election-isnt

From my article and response in the thread

It is sucking all of the oxygen out of the MSM. . .Also there will be dozens of stories that will be taking us, thankfully, away from the dreary tedious talking heads blathering about the election.
After a great tragedy like this two things are going to happen;

There are going to be hundreds of more interesting stories, about the cat that survived, the grandmother who got lost, the wheel bound fellow that was saved by a neighbor.

There will be stories about the dozens that have died. The tremendous damage to the Stock Exchange. Schools that were damaged and how people are scrapping by to help each other cope.

Frankly everyone is tired of the campaign and the vitriol. In the midst of real human stories people will turn off any more campaign noise. No new issues will be litigated.

From BUZZFEED

the “storm has put an undefined presence on this, because most everything people are seeing, hearing or talking about is not the election but the storm,” he said.

From my article

Sandy put this sorry ass campaign out of its misery and 95% of the American public will thank that miserable SOB storm for ending a campaign that has gone on about 3 months longer than it should have.

From the BUZZFEED article

The palpable sense: Americans are simply over the grinding presidential campaign. Take this week’s viral video featuring a weeping four-year-old begging her mother to be done with Romney and “Bronco Bama.”

Was the story written before the Boulder event or did it just not fit the narrative and thus had to be ignored?

wanted to.

First point is that they are purposely getting smaller crowds, like 10,000 rather than going bigger.

Second point is Biden and Ryan are attracting less than 1,000.

That shows that the attraction is the President who remains a charismatic and a person people are interested in seeing and not the campaign.

If people had a real sustained appetite in the campaign then all of the candidates and all of the surrogates would be attracting big crowds, now it is just the President.
