The Tea Party favorite dethroned long-time respected Republican moderate Dick Lugar by promising not to compromise with Democrats. Mourdock said that Washington "needs more zealots" and that he would bring MORE partisanship to Washington. Lugar refused to endorse him afterwards stating that it was exactly that kind of attitude that was so dangerous to our country. He was also the one who last week in a debate stated that rapes resulting in pregnancy are "something that God intends to happen."
I made my first political donation this campaign season yesterday when I donated to Mourdock's opponent, Joe Donnelly (D) and to Glenda Ritz (D) who is running against the disastrous Tony Bennett, the State Superintendent of Education.
This morning, I see that it appears we'll be spared our own Michelle Bachmann in Indiana as voters have clearly indicated they don't want any more conservative extremism. I'm enormously relieved!

Democratic Senate nominee U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly has built a significant lead in the race for Senate, according to a new Howey/DePauw University Battleground Poll.
The poll, released this morning, shows Donnelly leading Republican State Treasurer Richard Mourdock 47 percent to 36 percent, with Libertarian Andrew Horning getting 6 percent.
The same poll shows Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Pence leading Democrat John Gregg 47 to 40 percent in the race for governor, while Libertarian Rupert Boneham was supported by 5 percent, and Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett leading his Democratic challenger Glenda Ritz 40 percent to 36 percent.
Mourdocks campaign released its own internal poll to challenge the Howey/DePauw poll, saying Mourdock has the lead 46 percent to 44 percent. ..............
