is now advising the Trump campaign too. I fear for our brothers and sisters in Latin America and in other parts of the world. It seems that every time democracy bubbles up from the people in other countries we are Johnny on the spot to knock it down again because we don't agree with those people. You know how they lied about Nevada - they do the same thing when they justify supporting or even initiating a coup in another country.

Indeed, the best way to minimize our own misdeeds is to point to the misdeed of others.

Though it holds nothing of any substance, it certainly allows a visceral self-satisfaction we may otherwise not have access to, and an ethical pretense allowing the righteous to stay pure, and the wicked to be cast as such.

And that's really the important thing of this primary season... a pretense of righteousness gilded with the dramatic veneer of oppression and martyrdom.

The other image is representative of the kind of power structure we were revolting against.
