George W. Bush in Caymans today to visit with Mitt's money

While Bill Clinton stumps for Obama, you've no doubt been wondering what the last Republican president, He Who Shall Not Be Shamed, has been up to. Surely, he's been using his massive popularity among Republicans and swing voters to get out the vote for the current Republican, right?

Alas, no. But George W. Bush has been given a very special job to do, one that I'm sure Mitt Romney himself tasked him with. The former president is today off in the Cayman Islands, where he will be giving a keynote address at the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit and no doubt popping in to say hello to some of Mitt's many investments. On tomorrow's agenda, no doubt: cashing the check given to him by the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit. Yes, nothing says political leader like scheduling a visit to the one place in the world that your party's current presidential candidate would really, really like people to stop talking about.

To be fair to Bush, it's not like he has a full plate these days. It was either that or attend a summit on the latest in automotive rooftop pet containment devices, and those people have way less money than "alternative investors."
