2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHillary should reject Bernie's request for another debate unless he behaves himself
1) Bernie should condemn the actions of his supporters in Nevada.
2) Bernie should directly apologize to the Nevada Democratic chairwoman who received death threats.
3) Bernie should apologize to Barbara Boxer for allowing his supporters to create an environment where she felt unsafe.
4) Bernie should halt his attacks on the Democratic Party.
Until all of this happens, Hillary should reject his request for another debate.

(6,604 posts)Looks like the Democratic party (or, more accurately, what will be left of it) is desperately going to need that influx of Republicans to control the bleeding.
Hope you come to tolerate what the decorators will have done to your "home."

(1,446 posts)Then the moderators or Hillary could go after him about each and every one. Nothing is more fun that watching the Bernie red-face anger meter during the debates. This one could be epic. Oh, and the finger wagging. I'm so torn...I want to see this so badly, but FOX, really?

(456 posts)Sanders supporters like to hoot and holler at these debates now to embarrass Hillary. They're an unruly bunch and just aren't respectful. Its just a bad look for the eventual nominee.

Her need to rely on Republicans not quite insane enough to vote for Trump will tell quite a story, starting with her abject failure at the polls.

(50,130 posts)We are the brink of a split in the Democratic Party. The old authoritarian way v. the new we-the-people MOVEMENT.
"Cracking down" on the movement is the tinder that will feed a firestorm.
The way to calm things would be for Hillary to make some concessions to Bernie right now, to show his millions of followers that they are included in the process.
If HRC cracks down, they are going to either depart or break things.
Authoritarian rule is just going to backfire.

(5,272 posts)Even if she loses Cali by a small margin(I'm not thinking she will), she's pretty much got this locked up. It's not worth the risk.
But as to your list, its all manufactured talking point bs. Those things reflect more poorly on the DNC and media's concerted efforts to paint Bernie and his supporters as fringe, thus calling on him to atone for the behavior of isolated actors so as to drape that albatross over his neck, than it actually does on the vast majority of his supporters or his campaign.
Why are you selling this garbage?

(15,512 posts)This has been over for weeks. Let him go indy if that's the big scary-ass threat he's using to get the kid glove treatment but this is really getting ridiculous and another debate would make both of them look farcical. He's done either way.

(9,967 posts)What's the point? What is he going to say that he hasn't said in all previous debates?
I know his opening statement will begin with "We started at three percent, blah. blah, blah"
Hillary can't waste time on this...she has bigger fish to fry.

(50 posts)Welshing on a debate wont look good for Clinton in California, unable to finish off Bernie.
In the convention, there will be multiple challenges, and every one of the challenges will be sustained and kick Clinton out. Count on it.

(45,319 posts)hero, a candidate whose verbiage has been reckless, hurtful, bigoted and oddly biased toward Republicans, Hillary 'Don't know much about history' Clinton.
You, right here are attacking the Democratic Party. My State just voted for the person you are speaking down to like a child. In a closed Democratic Primary. By a large margin.
Double standards, hypocrisy and it's just so boring.
