Poor Obama.

Last edited Fri Nov 2, 2012, 02:59 AM - Edit history (1)

He came into office in 2008 and had to clean up the second worst financial crisis in US history.

And he'll come into office in 2012 facing the biggest disaster clean-up in our history.

And he'll probably still be facing a GOP determined to fight him every inch of the way. And yet, if anyone can do it, he can.

By "we" I mean ALL of us... those of us who don't vote, don't discuss politics with friends and family and NECESSITATE learning, and those of us who don't learn, as well as the 1%, and the 47%, and the 99%.

If history is at al fair, he'll be seen as one of the "greats" ... along with FDR, Lincoln, and Washington. I personally never expected to live to see someone like him ... even better than JFK who I felt strongly about ... not even counting the color of his skin.

I still harbor the HOPE that his value is appreciated ... and he's appointed to the Supreme Court. THAT would be the frosting on his history cake. If anything, he might even be a better Justice than a POTUS.

9. It really is up to us, not the lying media. If people voted downticket wisely, it will be.

Pelosi thought so, and she certainly knew what the GOP and the Koch surrogates were planning. Possibly there will a sweep if people are paying attention, or enough to force the Teahadists to bend.

The problem will be, if, as in 2009, that some people thought that Obama getting in office would take care of everything. The reactionaries never take a break, never accept anything less than total control. They have the money to pay their lackeys, a plan to steal all the public resources and cannibalize the rest of the resources, and the fundies are in their pocket, a combination of zeal and greed that are hard to bring to heel. The money made from the wars is in their bank accounts abroad and they are hungry for more.

It will take an entire generation, if you call a generation 20 years, that is, to begin to undo what they've done. The Koch brothers had a 50 or more year plan. Grover Nordquist has announced their plans for the next 20. They have the bills written up and will be introducing them on the federal level just as ALEC has generated the exact same legislation in every state.

None of this is about democracy, freedom or liberty, but a fascist theocracy. Other nations have fought civil wars over this. These guys have worked to make every word the Founding Fathers said about freedom, life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, a mockery of words.

It's what they've done with their double speak. It's very hard to go up against them. And Obama cannot do it by himself. If this goes south, it will be our fault.

The last two debates swung the momentum back our way and Sandy coming along made Romnesia's take on FEMA look even more ridiculous. Plus Obama's approval is going to rise.

The pollsters have these "likely voter" screens they are using. The sophisticated GOTV methods OFA uses may render them obsolete, and give President Obama some big margins and very long coattails.
