2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumW. PA, watching Jeopardy, 3 Romney ads in a row. One was "a person from Canada who came to the
US for a health emergency" bashing the President and ACA, another was showing WWII and "how we are losing our freedoms", another was asshole Romney himself talking about he "would work with everyone". Since yesterday, there has been a large # of ads when we had the TV on, abc, cbs, nbc, ....another two (Pat Boone and Romney again) while I'm typing this. They have gone to saturation and IMO, people are going to mute their TVs.

(15,071 posts)more than usual and the ads for Romney were at every commercial break. I'm sure we are not the only ones muting every ad that comes on. It is bizarre.

(16,631 posts)Because of the surge of Republican ads, the Obama campaign was forced to spend more than $1.5 million here this week money it could have used elsewhere. An Obama campaign official said Wednesday that it was not taking the state for granted and would further increase its advertising in the state.

(1,214 posts)I think they would be better if they had more ads with President Obama talking to us or real people talking about how Obama policies have helped them, for example someone now covered by health care.

(9,774 posts)Every other commercial is a Romney or anti Obama ad. They are going all out now.

(243 posts)The Obama campaign has said if the GOP starts the saturation, they will be hitting it hard also to ensure victory and the lead they already have in VA and PA. SO get ready for the add bombardment. It shouldn't last long as the local races will be hitting it hard starting tomorrow.

(18,219 posts)Most of the ads I am seeing are from PACs, and they are ugly. War on coal is big. Obama "destroying" the auto industry by "saving" it. Obama sold Chrysler to the Italians and now they are going to move jobs to China to make their cars. And my personal favorite, the war on religion.
I have been concerned that I am not seeing enough Obama ads that are debunking this.

(20,450 posts)Actually, I live in MD, but we get the entire MD-VA-DC-WVA market, so we see everything VA sees.
We're going to be working very hard in VA, going deep down in the southern part of the state.
