2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHere's Why NH is relevant to the campaign
Romney seems obsessed with making stops in NH, and Obama even has a stop scheduled there. Here's why:
Romney could win all of CO, FL, NC, VA, and WI and still lose with only 267 votes. But if he could get all of those states PLUS NH, he would reach 271.
Sounds like a really hopeless strategy, tbqh.

(527 posts)If Obama loses OH or WI, then NH is relevant. If Obama wins OH and WI, then NN is only relevant if Obama can't take either IA or NV.

(64 posts)It would be oh-so-sweet to see him conceded here!
I am no expert and I live in a blue town, but I swear, I just don't see overwhelming support for Romney here in NH. Obama has a great ground game here and I have canvassed twice and have worked the phones. I just don't think the polls are accurate.
Keep the faith!!

(4,175 posts)If Gore had carried NH, FL would have been a minor item in that election.
I'll check and make sure. Yep. Bush 271 - Gore 266
NH - 4 votes. Take away 4 from Bush and give them to Gore.

(489 posts)Having been an activist here since 1972, when I held a McGovern sign in front of Exeter Town Hall, I feel very safe saying (again) that President Obama will win NH. The Obama ground game is extraordinary, as it seems to be in the other swing states.
From what I can tell, Willard's ground game consists of handing out lawn signs and doing a leaflet drop here and there, but not much else. The fact that he owns a summer home here isn't going to help him, either.
The President won't match his 2008 victory here, but he'll win.
