I've had enough ...

Of these 3-4 calls daily from republiCONs. I'm in FL and have been a registered Dem for 34 years. Just got a call from a Cuban woman going on and on about what a disappointment Obama is, the lies he's told (yeah, Rmoney isn't a walking lie), Medicare cuts, and the damn Bengazi crap. I finally lost it ... I told her "c-word, go back to your country if you're not happy here" and hung up on her. Honest, I'm not a racist. My parents/siblings immigrated here in 1950 from Eastern Europe and were spat on an told "d.p. go back to the motherland" and based on that, I've always been mindful of how I treat others. I'm sitting here crying now. I just lost it ... I'm gonna disconnect my phone and stick with the cell till next week.

Asking to talk to my daughter who hasn't even lived in Florida in 4 years. She was pushing how Romney, and the voters in Florida decided, will push for a constitutional amendment to ban Gay Marriage nationally. FLORIDA citizens voted to ban it.

Let me list the problems here. #1. She doesn't live in Florida. #2. Me? I voted AGAINST the ban on Gay Marriage. #3. My daughter is a LESBIAN. #4. She lives in NY now and is getting married THERE. #5. I SUPPORT her and MARRIAGE EQUALITY. #6. I wouldn't vote for ROMNEY if you paid ME a million dollars.

She walked off in a huff.

I'm sick of this shit, too...I'm a Canadian who lives in Idaho so not only can I not vote, I can't even enjoy a sane state! So it goes. It's okay to yell, and feel worn out. You can unplug your phone (or turn off the ringer)--that's allowed because, after all, it's your phone. Or, if you want, you can get snappy (like some of the other replies here demonstrate). My personal faves: 1) why are you Tea Baggers always trying to get non-citizens to vote? (which they are when they pitch to me, technically); and 2) Do you believe this stuff you're saying or do they have to pay you to be dishonest?

Neither are very eloquent, but they get the point across.

How about, Yes, I know all about Romney...that's why I already voted for Obama. And then hang up. Hanging up is very important, even if it violates your sense of etiquette. These asshats aren't playing by any known rules and you don't need to, either.

Peace out, and stay funky!

other such worries. So, respectfully, I do hope you are mindful of the Americans who are yearning for the Public Option. Perhaps you could WRITE about it in upcoming articles to help bring about a strong Public Option in the public sector to do what Obama originally planned to do in 2008...

Check your shoe for the whiff. Want me to scan my '79 voter registration card and email it to you? Have been lurking at this site since 2004, finally registered recently. Sorry to the women, I just lost it. If you look up my other posts, you'll see my strong support for women. I'm the father of two daughters. As children, I use to get into it with McDonald employees when they ask if the Happy Meal was for a boy or a girl ... I'd respond, "my daughter wants the Matchbox car, not the Barbie", and then lecture the manager that it was better to just ask if your child wants the car or the doll, rather than making a gender based assumption.

I'm just so over the calls and mail. NEVER in 30+ years have I been contacted by any republiCON, this election, it's endless ... each and every day. Either prerecorded or actual people calling. My wife got called 11 times yesterday on her cell during 9am-6pm, which makes it difficult when you're working one-on-one with a patient. I got 11 pieces of mail from Rmoney and republiCONs today (and one from Obama) ... expensive, multi-color, varnished, card stock, with the standard lies ... how many trees have died just to go straight into the trash can? I have voted in every election since '79, no matter how "minor". Always took my children with me, they got to punch the chad as I pointed out my choice. They now too have voted in every election since they turned 18. We trained them from when they were toddlers.

Had the misfortune to leave the house today and go to one of the major intersections in the Tampa Bay area, near a mall. Approximately 60 republiCONS armed with large American flags, the usual preprinted Rmoney signs and loads of hand painted NO-bama, Obama lies, etc., crap signs. I long ago stopped trying to predict elections, have been disappointed too many times, if by some chance Rmoney pulls it off this time ... forget disappointment, I'm going to lose it.

Edit: Nice that someone a few post ahead of this one originally called BS on me and cast suspicion on my intention "IMO" and when I respond, edits the subject and their post totally to erase that. Thanks for the welcome to DU. I gather you've never let anything slip in anger or frustration. Let me contact the Vatican and get you on the list for beatification, on your way to sainthood. You're a far better person than I'll ever be. As far as other people and worries, here's mine ... since being disabled in 2004 from a bungled spinal surgery and having my life as I knew it ended, I've started chemo a month ago for kidney cancer, after dragging from doctor to doctor for 8 months trying to find out why I was so ill. So, I've got worries beyond politics.

I want to slap him too. How people living on the dole has increased under Obama and we're on our way to Socialism. My parents, now deceased, my mom was Nazi enforced slave labor and my dad, was a Nazi prisoner of war, would have some points to argue with him. Paid for and approved by him ... some Peter somebody dude. Guy must have some cash to have bought up so much ad time.

Got an ugly racist e-mail from an acquaintance and opened up a can of whoop-ass on her. In one from or another, I've been getting this kind of shit from Republicans ever since the ascendancy of the Right in 1980. Thirty-two fucking years.

Sick of this shit. They've rendered this country unrecognizable.

... those of us who live in blue states (or probably hopelessly red states) are not being tested that way people in the swing states are being tested. May I suggest that if you answer the phone again, avoid the "c-" word which is sexist, and call the person at the other end "Fuckhead" or something like that.
