(304 posts)Remember all the crazy conservatives on twitter last night saying that the reason why Bloomberg didn't want Obama in NYC to view the damage, was because he didn't want Obama to look good(so Romney would win).
Hahahahahaha.

All the RW blogs are buzzing with "Bloomberg orders Obama to stay out of NYC." This will make them shit their pants.

(62,325 posts)He's in NYC and still has political aspirations, he realized that 'dissing' a Democratic President wasn't a smart thing to do.
Bloomberg has been a Democrat, a Republican and an Independent, depending on what he thought might work best for him.
I'm glad he's done this, but most likely he's only reacting to the slamming he got for his ridiculous remark yesterday.

(14,971 posts)about these freak storms and climate change. I heard Tom Brokaw, Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd all saying the administration needs to make it a priority. They know Romney wants to gut the EPA and turn the US into an unlivable wasteland.

(1,828 posts)Glad to see him cite climate change as a reason for endorsing. Nice to see some recognition out there, and if climate change can steal the spotlight thanks to Sandy, at least something good might come of this horrible tragedy.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/02/nyregion/bloomberg-endorses-obama-saying-hurricane-sandy-affected-decision.html?_r=0
In a surprise announcement, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said Thursday that Hurricane Sandy had reshaped his thinking about the presidential campaign, and he announced that he was endorsing President Obama.
Mr. Bloomberg, a political independent in this third term leading New York City, has been sharply critical of both Mr. Obama, a Democrat, and Mitt Romney, the presidents Republican rival, saying that both men have failed to candidly confront the problems afflicting the nation. But he said he had decided over the past several days that Mr. Obama was the best candidate to tackle the global climate change that the mayor believes contributed to the violent storm, which took the lives of at least 38 New Yorkers and caused billions of dollars in damage.
The devastation that Hurricane Sandy brought to New York City and much of the Northeast in lost lives, lost homes and lost business brought the stakes of next Tuesdays presidential election into sharp relief, Mr. Bloomberg wrote in an op-ed article for Bloomberg View.
Our climate is changing, he wrote. And while the increase in extreme weather we have experienced in New York City and around the world may or may not be the result of it, the risk that it may be given the devastation it is wreaking should be enough to compel all elected leaders to take immediate action.

(4,551 posts)Some people are going to say he's just jumping on the winning bandwagon.
Still, it's another slap in the face to Mitt Romney, so I'm happy about that.
