Republicans Take Aim at Bernie as His Winning Streak Continues
GOP official airs (old) complaint against Jane Sanders
Toensing is vice-chairman of the Vermont Republican Party and has publicly questioned public officials’ integrity and ethics in the past. Last year, Toensing filed a separate campaign-finance complaint against Attorney General Bill Sorrell, a Democrat, and the resulting state investigation is due to be released this month.
The Sanders campaign dismissed the letter about Jane Sanders as “recycled, discredited garbage” from the Republican Party.
“As Bernie gains in national polls showing him defeating Republican presidential candidates, it is not surprising that Republican operatives are slinging mud at him and his family,” Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs said in a statement.
