2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHaving digested the story for the last 48 hours, I believe the fault for Nevada lies with Sanders
The fundamental complaint was that accredited Sanders delegates were denied participation in the Convention without cause. However, the two specific complaints I've heard were:
1). I was not a Democrat; nobody told me I had to stay a Democrat after the caucus.
2). I changed my registration to become a Republican, and I'm not certain it ever got changed back.
I have not heard specific evidence that Sanders delegates who were disqualified had their registrations changed without their knowledge and permission, and especially no evidence that any such changes were, in a State controlled by Republicans the responsibility of the Clinton campaign, the State Party or the DNC.
Considering that both groups had delegates disqualified, this seems to be normal procedure; what then seems to have happened is that the Sanders people protested the result, and disrupted the normal process of the Convention, apparently in the incorrect belief that whatever did happen was the fault of the other side exacerbated by a recurring belief that nobody would WANT to vote for Clinton, so the only way she could win was by cheating. It also appears that their prior lack of involvement in electoral politics has blinded some of them to the appropriate ways to get things done inside the system, as opposed to disrupting the process for everyone else.

(24,853 posts)Did it make you constipated? 48 hours is a long time to digest something. You're lucky it wasn't swallowed chewing gum. My Mom says that stuff stays in your belly for 7 YEARS. Lucky.

(50,942 posts)And there were only a few that showed up of the 64 delegates. The State Party and Sanders campaign were unable to locate or identify most of them.

(30,481 posts)I've seen some complaints from people who knew they were registered republican and have taken part in republican primaries. Now they are victims because they aren't being allowed to subvert the will of democratic voters.

(2,807 posts)Problem solved. Instead he has a bunch of delusionals running around thinking they are somehow going to win this thing.

(1,580 posts)There were also disqualified because they didn't live in Clark County, they said at the Feb caucauses that they didn't want to be state delegates, addresses couldn't be verified and there was something said about living out of state. Some just didn't show up. These were the alternatives that were so hastily gathered up to flood the county caucauses. Is it any wonder that they didn't cross thier t's and dot their i's. The reddit thread used just said to bring all the Sanders supporters along.

(4,387 posts)...Clinton had 6 disqualified...Sanders had 64 disqualified. That seems a little off balance to me, not that they have to be equal but it's nearly 10 times as many.
When you watch everything happen in sequence it's pretty clear why people were upset:

(1,442 posts)NV convention is just a taste of what will occur at national convention...
Establishment will attempt to railroad their agenda through while trying to stiff arm the rules along the way...
Neither candidate will have enough delegates to earn the nomination prior to convention, SDs will have to come into play and that bit right there will be where the fun begins...
MSM coverage will cast the brightest of spotlights on the process and situation allowing the protests to be front and center...
SDs will feel the growing pressure, bank on it, the process and reasons surrounding the 'why' of SDs will be broadcast and scrutinized for ratings...
Grab your popcorn folks, it will be fun to watch...
