Colin Powell in new Obama TV Ad
After announcing radio buys yesterday featuring Colin Powell's endorsement, the Obama campaign rolls out a TV spot featuring clips of the former secretary of state's endorsement on CBS News the script:
When he took over
we were in one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression
And I saw, over the next several years, stabilization come back in the financial community. Housing is starting to pick up
The president saved the auto industry
And the actions hes taken with respect to protecting us from terrorism have been very, very solid. And so I think we ought to keep on the track that were on.
It's sort of an interesting note to end on, given that Obama's campaign overall has tried to make an argument for staying the course without hitting a status quo-sounding note like "we ought to keep on the track that we're on." The campaign says the spot will air in all the usual states, plus Minnesota Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.
