Charles Pierce has something to say to Sanders supporters after the Nevada debacle ...

The latest chapter came at this weekend's Democratic state convention in Nevada, where the Sanders faction went completely bananas because the rules by which you had to be a Democrat to participate in a Democratic convention were simply too much for them to bear. Senator Barbara Boxer got booed. Punches and chairs were thrown.

....

First of all, who elects anybody with a system that apparently was designed at a marmoset technical college? This sounds like something Kim Jong-Il would have thought up on the golf course between his 11th and 12th holes-in-one.

....

That being said, this whole mess was over four freaking delegates, and the Sanders people should know better than to conclude what has been a brilliant and important campaign by turning it into an extended temper tantrum.

I voted for Bernie Sanders. I even wrote about why I did here at this very shebeen. But if anybody thinks that, somehow, he is having the nomination "stolen" from him, they are idiots.

And, no, I don't want to talk about it.

He said that the 2000 election fiasco really legitimized our elections in voters' eyes, and all are suspected of cheating. He very much thought this is a bad thing. In the case of Nevada, I do tend to believe it is bad sportsmanship. At the same time, reading CoffeeCat's posts I realize there may have been some funny business going on with the credentialing of delegates, as occurred in Nevada.

Pierce is right though, it isn't worth having a riot over. However, if it doesn't change the outcome, why steal delegates from Sanders? I have my theories, relating to recent reports that Clinton has far more allies who want to attend the PHL convention than she has delegate slots.

in pretending there was 'funny business' going on.

Any time Clinton wins there's 'funny business' going on.

Sanders, his campaign, his surrogates and his supporters have lost any credibility they ever had.

How can she help it? Look at how far to the right Bill pushed the Democrats.

There Is a Moderate Republican in This Race, But She’s Running as a Democrat

Hillary Clinton’s stances, while fluid during this election cycle, are historically most in tune with classical Republican ideas, as advocated by Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, and others. As a young woman, she volunteered for the conservative Barry Goldwater, and while today she’s become liberal on some social issues, she’s generally at home with moderate conservative ideas, such as a hawkish military, strict immigration laws, reduced welfare, laissez-faire rules for Wall Street, and international business treaties that favor large corporations. One group started a petition this year asking Clinton to run as a Republican, suggesting that while she is “liberal on some issues, on a wide range of important issues she lands squarely as a moderate conservative.”

That is interesting, because Charles Sanders Peirce had this to say about the political process:
