Xavier Becerra would make an excellent running mate for Hillary Clinton

Xavier Becerra would make an excellent vice president for Hillary Clinton if she is fortunate enough to be our party's nominee.

He is Hispanic and a member of the progressive Caucus.

The VP nominee will be someone whose name is widely recognized. I can't imagine any other choice.

She doesn't need him to pull Hispanic votes from trump. But he might cost her votes among the white independents whose vote she badly needs if she has any hope of being elected.

We should expect a sort of dysfunctional cross between Dr. Evil, an applause meter, and a windsock.

I bet Debbie Wasserman Schultz fits that ticket. Besides, it really doesn't matter, because, if she is the nominee, we'll be too busy packing to escape the Trump Presidency to worry about the loser's VP pick.
