Stewart: Gov. Christie realized Obama not an empty chair

But Christie’s attitude dramatically changed after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the east coast. On Tuesday, the governor praised Obama’s “outstanding” leadership and cooperation.




The Daily Show host joked that Christie had finally met the real Obama, not the imaginary “empty chair” Obama that conservatives had constructed. But Stewart remarked that not everyone had gotten “the memo,” showing a clip of Fox News host Steve Doocy asking Christie about doing a photo-op with Romney.

The New Jersey governor bluntly responded that he didn’t “give a damn” about presidential politics.

1. I wonder if Christie privately apologized for the mean spirited attack last week

where he said Obama was stumbling in the dark looking for the leadership light switch.

2. It's the worst Bromance ever

In normal times, this would be a non-story. Any governor would seek out the sitting president in the midst of such a crisis, damn political differences, in order to get help for the people of his or her state and raise his own profile. It's only the obstinance of the GOP that makes Christi seem to be taking a different path.
