2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCan someone point me to Bernie Sanders' complaint about the alleged Convention problems in Nevada?
I'm sure he'll want to stand up for voting rights...won't he?

(20,692 posts)About the Nevada delegates.
I'd like to see a real reporter go on the record with a real delegate who was refused.
Not taking sides: I want to know the truth.

(10,336 posts)seeing. Take it in, digest it, and you will see, too. There were major irregularities with delegates' registrations being mysteriously switched They then "blame" the delegates for "not checking" their registrations. Funny, in all my years voting, never once has my registration been changed. Why did this happen? Who did it? Who is behind it? How was it rectified? (it wasn't). Nevada was the site of The Great Coup.

(58,785 posts)filed another of his lawsuits because he didn't like the NV party rules, and the judge tossed it because changing party rules wasn't normally any of his business and there wasn't some serious problem requiring him to intervene.
Bernie's campaign, assisted by his various state organizations, has a clearly established pattern now of trying to use procedure to help him win when the popular vote fails, changing procedures as needed, sometimes operating within the rules, sometimes not, such as threatening and filing unjustified lawsuits. If he doesn't like the deal, he does his best to change it.
Supporters in the states help out as they can. I haven't read of any instructions found from his staff to the various caucuses, etc., to break the law, however. When "shenanigans" occur, and there have been some, they're presumably strictly the acts of locals, such as the party operative in Nevada who gave Bernie's people the names and email addresses of Hillary's delegates. Of course, there are accusations that subsequent fraudulent emails to Hillary delegates resulted in Bernie seating more delegates in April even though she had won the popular vote in the caucuses. In any case, the woman was fired from her committee as a result.
We'd all like more information about those 64 Bernie and 8 Hillary delegates who were not registered as Democrats and thus not allowed to participate. What were the reasons they weren't registered as Democrats?
In wondering about all this, though, we should keep in mind that neither losing nor gaining delegates in Nevada would have any practical effect on Hillary's substantial lead.
