Heard this commercial at least ten times that Monday while driving around Michigan:

Came Through

Narrator: It wasn’t long ago. The auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Major American companies about to be liquidated. Millions of jobs were at risk. Michigan's economy was teetering. America’s auto companies asked for help. And President Obama came though. Now …in Sunday’s debate …we learn only one candidate for president supported him. Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton: When it came down to it, you were either for saving the auto industry or you were against it. I voted to save the auto industry.

Narrator: And she was right. Today the auto industry is thriving and millions of people have jobs who could have lost them, jobs in manufacturing, technology, jobs up and down the supply chain. On Tuesday, March 8th, vote for the one candidate who stood up for the auto industry……and came through for Michigan …when it really mattered. Hillary Clinton.

hubs worked for GM...Sanders voted against the final bill...had it failed the autos would have gone under....the banks got money and St Bernie could not live with that so...thousands of jobs would have gone...the President used capital for this..bailouts were unpopular. Bernie Sanders stabbed the auto union and the autos in the back. What would have happened if we lost all those jobs...a depression most likely. This is why I don't think Bernie would be a good president. He has no judgement. He has an obsession with one thing only. There is a GM plant in Kentucky.

28. From Fact Check
Sun May 15, 2016, 05:48 PM
May 2016

Jan. 15, 2009: The Senate fails to pass a resolution that would have blocked the second installment of TARP funds. Sanders voted to block the release of the $350 billion, which as we said included $4 billion for the auto industry. On the Senate floor, Michigan Sen. Carl Levin urged his Senate colleagues to vote against the resolution and to provide the remaining $4 billion for the auto industry. “We must complete the job started in December and ensure that the additional funding necessary for the financial health of this critical U.S. industry is provided in a timely manner,” Levin said.
We asked the Sanders campaign about the senator’s claim that there was only “one vote in the United States Senate on whether or not to support the auto bailout.” Warren Gunnels, a policy director for the Sanders campaign, said the senator’s remarks were “based on your fact check.” But our fact-check mentioned two Senate votes that were designed to provide funding for the auto industry — not just the one that Sanders now cites as the only vote.
Gunnels also said Sanders “never believed that the [TARP] money would be used for the auto industry.” Gunnels can safely say that about the first TARP vote in October 2008, and he can also safely say that Sanders could not envision that ultimately Bush and Obama combined would use about $80 billion of TARP funds for the auto industry. But Gunnels cannot plausibly say that Sanders did not know that the second vote in January 2009 did not contain funding for the auto industry. As we said, Levin spoke on the Senate floor about the auto industry, saying “this additional $4 billion must come from the second $350 billion.”

I posted the truth below...there were two votes...one in December and one in January...Bernie voted against the autos the second and most important time...he says there was one vote there were two votes...thus, he lied.

Jan. 15, 2009: The Senate fails to pass a resolution that would have blocked the second installment of TARP funds. I can see why you aren't linking to it

But at the time of the vote, it was by no means clear that Obama would use more than one-fifth of the $350 billion for an auto bailout. And most of the money still went for the bank bailouts that Sanders opposed.

So Clinton’s claim that her Jan. 15, 2009, vote was “to save the auto industry” is — to be charitable — quite a stretch.

is telling the truth in Hillaryland?

Clinton twisted a Sanders vote on the Wall Street bailout package to claim he was “against the auto bailout.”

Clinton said that an auto parts supplier in Wisconsin got part of the auto bailout and is now moving to Europe. The company didn’t receive any bailout money, though it benefited indirectly from the program.

38. Here is a a good explanation.
Sun May 15, 2016, 06:54 PM
May 2016

This is why I don't want Sanders as president...he would have allowed autos to fail rather than help the banks...I personally do not think the banks should have failed either. When he voted this way he knew the auto money was in the second bill. She is not lying. The fact he voted for autos in December does not excuse his vote in Janurary.

"However — and this is what Clinton is talking about — Sanders voted to block the release of the second half of the TARP funding, including the auto bailout funds, while Clinton voted for the funds. (Sanders opposed and Clinton supported the initial TARP bill.)

Sanders said he opposed bailout funding for financial firms, which is where the majority of TARP dollars were headed.

"I have strong reservations about continuing this bailout without strong taxpayer protections written into law," he said in a statement. "I also object to using middle-class taxpayer money to bail out the exact same financial institutions whose greed and recklessness led to the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression."
