ND Senate, Karl Rove has spent $22.20 per vote so far, as Heidi Heitkamp pulls ahead.

Maybe Sen. Rick Berg's problem is Karl Rove, outside money, and negative attack ads.

Just got this e-mail from Sen. Kent Conrad:
"spending against Heidi by outsiders like Karl Rove now tops $7 million – with no sign of slowing."

Doing the math: $7,000,000+ / 315,422 (2008 votes cast for president) = $22.2 per vote so far.
In North Dakota, 160,000 votes lands you in the U.S. Senate, but you can't just buy an election by spending millions of dollars.

A new poll shows Heidi up 45-42!

It is really connecting to the people, more potluck than rally sometimes.

But, the money keeps pouring into ND to attack Heidi. Help if you can.

It's his fault that the seat is vulnerable to Republican takeover in the first place.

Anyway, having said that, I wish Heidi well.

So is this an Independent poll putting her ahead? Because she is still well behind in Nate Silver's calculations. He says internal polls are unreliable. What is the name of the new poll putting her ahead? Let's get the news out there.

It was a good time for Conrad to step down.
They knew Berg would move up and his negatives are very high.
It was also the best year ever for a woman to run.
Plus, how can anyone beat a woman like Heidi?

As the incumbent he would have had the advantage against Berg. He chickened out of running because he thought it would be close but the fact that a non-incumbent like Heidi is competitive shows that Conrad would likely have been re-elected.

Anyway, that's over and done with now so I guess there's no point in me complaining about Conrad leaving.

On to Heidi. What is the name of the new independent poll?

Toss-up, too close to call.

GOTV is everything in the ND Senate race. I just sent Heidi one of my biggest non-national contributions. I think she could just pull this off, and she'd be a VAST improvement over the clown the right has put up against her. this one could well be a recount.
