(31,182 posts)There is a lot of ill will about Republigovernor Kasich banning the public workers unions and having it reversed by the vote on Issue 2 last year. Further, there are huge numbers of Ohioans with an attachment to the domestic auto producers.
I don't know if that dynamic exists in PA and the other states.

(99,716 posts)NY and PA have voted the same way in every presidential election in the last eighty years except once. What are the chances of NY going red?

(5,066 posts)back In 1988 Dukakis won New York and Bush won PA.So that means a republican could win PA and dem win New York.
The problem for Republicans except for possibly NH The norhteast Is solid democratic when Democrats turn out to vote. And even In
NH It took nadar to allow Bush to win there In 2000.Granted Perot might have helped Clinton there In 1992 but since the 1990's Norhteast has been going Democatic.

(99,716 posts)The point Ed Rollins was making is that states bear some resemblance to one another. A candidate is not winning California while losing Hawaii nor is he winning New York while losing Massachusetts.
